The Marihemp Network message boards system continues to operate totally separately at http://boards.marihemp.com/

We realize some folks may find this arrangement confusing, but based upon our research, there are many people who want a more "glitzy" message board system running a well known software package, such as in this case vBulletin version 3, loaded with lots of features, such as avatars, buddy lists, emoticons, etc.

With two totally separate message board systems, folks can now have a choice...or may even use both!

Marihemp Network message boards and these CANNABIS.COM message boards are separate and so if you are a member at Marihemp Network boards, you need to register again here...you may use either your same user name or a different one.

There are important differences for folks used to using the Marihemp Network message boards...here at the CANNABIS.COM message boards, please note the following:

1. All new user registrations are reviewed by one or more of the mods. New users can NOT post until they are approved. In short, registration here is a two step process - first, verifying one's email and secondly, being approved.

2. One user name per email address. This restriction is due to how vBulletin operates in regards to passcode recovery and some other features.

3. Encryption during only the login phase, where encryption truly would be helpful, is not supported by vBulletin as far as we can tell - with vBulletin, it's either all or none, which is very inefficient.

Lack of encryption is generally not a big deal, but something to be aware of for persons who access from public computers, college dorm, etc in which encryption can be very helpful.

On an aside, one should *not* solely rely on SSL 128 bit encryption to hide one's actions from various governments, since it increasingly appears likely various governments have the ability to break SSL 128 bit encrypted data in real-time.

4. Avatars are supported for all registered users. Unlike many boards, we have have no posting requirement. Custom avatars may be uploaded right away. 100x100 with a file size limit of 25KB (25600 bytes) - animation, assuming not too annoying (only advertisers get away with that ;)), is OK.

5. Who is on-line and related features, such as buddy lists are supported. Now one can better interact with others. For persons seeking privacy, invisiable mode is available.

6. Calendar/Events, FAQs, and Voting Polls are all supported - all registered users may utilize these features.

7. Mods and Admins have access to complete IP addresses and user email addresses. This differs greatly from Marihemp Network boards where such information is greatly restricted and not available to others.

8. Personal Messaging (PM) and Chat (coming soon) are only available to Gold Members. Due to the large amount of abuse such features get, as well as the expense of providing them, we limit those features to Gold Members only. Becoming a Gold Member is only a *one-time* fee of $10 USD.

On-line payment is not yet available for Gold Membership. In the meantime, persons interested in becoming a Gold Member, please feel to send in payment of $10 USD (Euros also ok for cash only) using money order, check, or cash to:

and one more question

say my friend in Uk,is wanting to be a Gold Member so they can access chat,
can i go ahead and send in the $10 fo them,?and give you the name,,,u can verify that they are not me,trying to duplicate myself,im just a state away mail from me take a day or so,from them weeks maybe?

would be like sponcering i guess,?


and i say $10 bucks is very cheep for use of this place,
some will whine and cry,and some will think it some scam
but i understand it takes money to operate,and a fee will in fact be a incentive to not be abusive,

... every time i try an register a name at marihemp it says: "ERROR!! Name not available! Please choose a different name."
