i would recommend about 300 watts for 4 plants,,,,2 plants could manage with 200....i would relly rrecommend getting a t5 if heat issues are a problem though....you can get a 4 bulb two footer for about 120ish.....and just use a couple cfls for supplimental light.. the lumen rating on CFL boxes is a little skewed but a t5 2' 4 bulb will give you 7600-8000 lumens from 1 foot away....plus a best available spectrum for lighting.......home depot sells 42 watt red spectrum bulbs for about 10$ each you would need at least 6-8 of these to flower anything so that brings you to 60-80$ plus tax, plus the price of the fixture, splitters, its also hard to reflect the cfls efficiently ....t5 bulbs are already is attached to a reflective fixture adn its easy to just raise it while the plants grow as apposed to constantly fiddleing with a bunch of cfl's o get them to efficiantly light up your plants..
I really do appreciate the Info. looks as if I will be making a trip to the depot. thanks again and when i get up and going I will let you know. Any mor info you have would be good. I have read up on some different soils and nutrients I just want to do this right and as best as possible.
best of luck on your grow!:thumbsup:
I have one more question. how much will this increase my electric bill? I have heard A lot??
find out how much it cost for a kilowatt hour and do the math.....if it cost .10 cents per kwh, and you are running 300 watts that .03 cents per hour the lights are on.....times 18 hours during veg period......54 cents a day so about 16 bucks a month for a 300 watt setup....just remeber fans and stuff like that are drwing power too so do the math and figure it out!
Thanks man appreciate all the help very:) much.
