low leaves browning and curling (using no ferts)
ok so my plant is to about 5 leaf sets. i started LSTing about a week ago. i noticed this morning that the lower leaves were starting to brown, droop, and curl under. i thought maybe it needed water, so i watered it and it didnt help. i know these are symptoms of fert burn, but i havnt given it any fertilizer, and its been fine till now. any ideas?

If you have rust-colored "leopard-type" spots and crispy edges it's your PH. Use bottled water until you can get the tools needed to fix your water or else it'll only get worse.
Search "PH probs" or earlier posts of mine for more PH info but it's the cause of more probs than all others combined.

Are you sure that the plant isn't starving? How long have you been growing it? It may be time to start feeding it.
I only have one grow under my belt, and it's still flowering 81 days after going 12/12 and I had some similar sounding symptoms around week 3 of veg, as I hadn't fed my plants yet. Added food to water, bingo, happy again. I will add that I was using RO water at the same time and not adding CalMag, so I may have had a Ca deficiency at the same time. When I started feeding I stopped using the RO water (it's for the fishtank anyway).
Good luck.

now is about time when you start introducing your plant to a small dose of veg ferts

Dude (I assume), I did the exact same thing. My plants were growing gangbusters and then BAM they depleted the small amount of food in my potting soil and slowed down, started browning, etc.
After their first dose or two of ferts they were back better than ever.
I probably won't be growing from seedling for a while, but next time on day 14 I'll start feeding.
Good luck!
