Go to the philippines, whoohooo!
toronto is harsh with pot....you need to do more research...
i am an american that moved to canada and i can tell you, they are cracking down here on the lax stance on drugs, and the only place that is light on sentences is british columbia....and even this is changing..and immigration is a nightmare..it is next to impossible for an american to get a visa here to live, never mind trying to work....rethink, for sure...

No one I know close has had a worse punishment for possession than a 60 dollar ticket and a "have a good day" by the cops. The immigration was a nightmare I do remember, we had trouble flying back and forth from America to Canada because our permanent resident card was such a hassle to get. Everytime I flew (2 times a month), I had to wait an extra 2 hours after going through customs to get "cleared".
EDIT: I would also like to mention the 14000 people that are meeting up in Toronto's streets this year for the Marijuana March on May 5th.
EDIT AGAIN: And sorry, I forgot to post on the medical cards you asked about - they're impossible to get without being legit... practically...
So, your leaving your home so you can blaze with more convenience?
Well i live in toronto and i wouldn't say pot laws are harsh at all. Yea with the new conservative government shit has got a little worse but still nothing compared to the states. I mean macr emery is getting fucked by the Canadian the government but i've never had problems. I've been smoking consitanly for along time all through highschool and a lot of those times were outside just walking right now the street with out a care in the world that a cop might stop me. I've never been charged or even warned by cops about weed (knock on wood),
B.C. has the largest pot culture in Canada, and will undoubtedly be the first to legalize it (our provincial NDP now says they'll legalize it, there's a vote in 2009. NDP are bound to get back in at some point, it goes back and forth).
Oh wait, I just realized Crashtestway has been banned, what's up with that? Ah well, wasted post perhapse...
give it 5 years and it will be legal in canada.
