need a few quick questions before i start my grow

what's up everyone??? ready for outdoor 2007??? I'm getting my setup all ready and i had a few questions...the first is about soil...I was planning on planting about 10 plants straight into the ground (already germinating)... should I mix some good soil in the natural soil? or totally replace the old soil with the new? what kind of soil do you recommend? ( i heard foxfarm ocean forest is good). I would also like to reduce the amount of watering trips... so should i add water crystals? if so, how much?....what about perlite???? help please:jointsmile:

1. Amending the existing soil thoroughly works better in the long run.
2. Add lots of compost and mix it up and turn it down several times down to 12" or more. (at least 10 quarts for a 2X3 spot). Add water crystals starting about 1.25 the rate on the label turned into the top 6-8". Also add mulch on top to retain more moisture.

black will help to warm the soil before u shock n kill ur 10 germinated seeds

Yeah, get some water crystals..

And also, what type of natural soil is it.. clay, sand, etc...
