This is a myspace bulletin I recieved from high times today
NORML is pleased to announce that Senate Bill 641 and House Bill 486, acts to authorize the medical use of marijuana for qualifying Tennessee patients, have been scheduled for Committee hearings next week.
If approved, the bills would allow authorized patients, under a physician's supervision, to possess up to eight ounces of cannabis and/or eighteen marijuana plants (six mature/twelve immature) for therapeutic purposes. (Read the full text of Senate Bill 641 http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/b...ILL/SB0641.pdf
. Read the full text of House Bill 486 http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/b...ILL/HB0486.pdf
Though the Tennessee legislature debated the merit of a pair of similar proposals in 2005 and 2006, legislators failed to act on them. Do not let these bills meet a similar fate. Please contact your elected state officials as well as the members the House Health and Human Services Committee and the Senate General Welfare, Health and Human Resources Committee now, and urge them to support these bills and to protect the health and safety of Tennessee's seriously ill.
