hey man
you will have the best healthy plant if you let her dry out between waterings. Just wait till the cup feels real light and the top looks real dry. Then when you water it drench it completely and then wait for it to dry again, and on and on. Obviously, you do not want to wait till it actually wilts, but like right before it does. Watering it just a little bit every day or every other day or similar, is the quickest surest way to kill a small seedling.
Keep it moist, never soaked and never dry. Be careful when adding water so the roots don't get disturbed as they are still small and delicate.
Allowing the soil to get somewhat dry between waterings will cause the roots to spread out faster seeking moisture and that will equate to better, faster, healthier growth. Keeping it wet all the time will equate to a stunted slow growing unhealthy plant and it may eventually die from it. This is how it works outside in nature. When it rains it usually rains for a couple hrs or sometimes days. Then it usually does not rain for several days. Cycles of getting completely wet and then almost completely dry is the natural way of things and plants thrive in this type of cycle.
aye! i c! thanks peoples i appreciate it, i woke up this morning n saw it sprouted... unique feeling all in its own! =)
