OMG they're already flowering!!

I've been growing pot indoors for years. This is the first year I'm trying outdoors. I took 10 clones from my white widows and put them outside a few weeks ago. But instead of continuing to veg, they are already flowering. WTF???

I live in Oklahoma. Is this just not the right time of year to start growing pot outdoors?

your plants are reacting to the different light schedual from the sun, mine are doing that also here in tx. give it a while and they should revert back to veg....they just might look a little goofy

From what I've heard (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), if you keep your plants on a long light cycle (like 24 hours, or 18/6, or whatever) and then put them outside any time other then mid summer or mid winter, they'll flower. So in theory you can put mature plants out in mid-April and they'd flower and be ready to harvest by mid-June or so. The plants think it is fall because of the new light cycle. If you put them out mid-summer they won't flower b/c the days are so long... they'll wait until the Fall light cycle.

I'm in oklahoma too, bro...I'm indoors as well and thought they didn't even show preflowers outside until at least august...but yes it is very much so the time to start growing..

buddy of mine has some outdoor plants and they too are already producing flowers...oh well, just imagine what they'll look like by october :D

If you just keep them under 14-15 hrs light from starting them untll you put them outside around 5/1 or so, they will not go into flower right away like that.

Hmmm....Except the days are GETTING longer. So what happens during mid-july? Will they revert to veg because of longer lighting hours.....never mind just read keeko's answer. Now how about a hermi issue? any problems there?

so if that happens (i just moved plants outside) and you will be able to tell which are male which are female straight away?? :D

i mean i know they can still hermie but they wont go male will they???
