where to dry
I live in maine, and this year is my first grow. I have everything set up. I am gonig to grow them inside for a month w/ 18 hours of light a day. after that I am going to put outside for two months.
my only problem is that I dont have a solid drying idea. I have heard many thoughts, but wanted to ask a direct question. any advice?
ps I cant dry it in my house. roommate sucks.

yeah i have the exact same issue. live in maine. roomates arent cool with me drying inside here... im basically gonna find a friend who i trust a lot who i can work something out with. i only have like two friends who would trade a space for weed without ripping me off, but i havent really even talked to them about it.
also, from what i have read, if the temp is consistant and not too hot or cold and the humidity is low, you can get away with hang drying only for about a week then finish by curing in jars. might be wrong there, but for now that's my plan.
one thing i would say though is you might want them outside for more than two months. id grow them indoors for like 2-3 weeks, put em out in the middle of may.. then harvest end of september.. theyll be bigger and more mature.

a shed may work ive used a shed outside for yrs ull not want ur place to smell like freshly harvested fellonies when sales people or repair guys or ur computer lady or the cops knock to say ur moms was beatin to death by her boyfriend or the pizza dude that smokes but his 7.50 an hr job is nottin compared to ur 150 ks a yr so hes so jelous hell return later n take it while u r asleep or maybe hell stab ya with a dirty dull pocket knife n steps over u carrying ur drying greens while u bleed from ur nonfatel stab wounds
ur better off keeping ur harvest out of ur house

I dont know how climates up there vary from the climates in the south, but alot of folks use the crawl space under thier house to dry roots.... kind of a make shift root celar. get a guy to dig out a part for 5 an hour, and put in some benches to hold everything above the soil, and put in a fan to pull the air out through a vent near the area.... and you are good to go... and if it is your place... get rid of the un cool roomate. get a new roomate that is cool and that you trust....
