Your mistake was not blocking her after her first IM. Instead, you allowed her to "get it off her chest" and for her to come off as all superior.
Right now, she is probably with her friends laughing "I told that idiot off, haha"
If you had blocked her, she would be stuck there with her thumb up her ass pissed off because you shut her down - but thats not what happened.
