Lookit that sativa stretch!
So THIS is what they were talking about.... One is Oaxacan sativa, one is Fruit Loops (an indica) - Can you guess which is which? lol
Both these plants were roughly the same size when put into flower ~ 19 days ago. Will it ever stop!!?!?
Thats one of the Koolest things about cooltubes though IMHO, I can put this plant kind of behind and above the lamp with my reflector, helping to gain some headroom with the stretch. But everything else is up on boosters because the whole bottom shelf has to be lowered to make room for this monster. Make it stop!

Yeah I grew a few haze plants last year and tried to lst them when they started that busines......they didn't fall for it---just made a funky little U and headed straight back up. I want to grow some outside this year but only have a four foot high (protected) spot for them and they take WAY too long to flower in hydro.....

Hey Tokudai ,
Why didn't you top the sativa ? Or would that have just created that many more growth shoots to contend w/ as far as height issues ?
Peace

xcrispi makes a very good point- topping really helps the sativa sisters. I topped my blue haze triplets twice, as well as lsted, and they never got over 3 ft tall, but were at least 2 1/2 feet wide at harvest. The same is true for the two ppp I have in flower now (will post pics in my grow log today)- if anything, I have to be careful not to let the girls get to fat, or they outgrow the flowercave!

Wow what a long tall Sally.
She might benefit from being tied diagonally or I wonder if Bushmaster would help her put on some girth?
Or are you just enjoying her in her au naturel state, lol?!
Lookit that sativa stretch!
Yeah, I probably should have topped it right when I flowered it, but I didn't think it'd stretch like this. I don't generally top a strain the first time I grow it though, as I like to get an idea of what it does naturally. I wish this one was a little more Salma Hayek and a little less Giselle though =D I've only grown a couple of pure-ish sativas and they weren't this bad. Imagine what she would have done outdoors!
Funny you mention diagonal Stinky, I just designed a little ramp to hold her container at about a 45 degree angle. If she gets much taller, she'll be above my reflector, so I'll have to use something to bring her back down. I've tried gently bending her but she is very stiff and feels like it'll break
