Anybody seen What the Bleep Do We Know?
Anyone else here watched What the Bleep Do We Know? Its a mindblowing movie about quantum physics. The brain processes 4 billion bits of information, but our awareness is only on 2,000. Reality is being recieved by the brain all the time. We just can't integrate all the information. Its really a very interesting thing. Pretty much flipped my views on a lot of things, makes me wonder a lot more about religion that I already did. Watching this thing sober is crazy enough try it stoned. Quantum Physics is the shit:thumbsup:
One part from the movie is this: When Columbus's armada landed in the Caribbean, none of the natives were able to see the ships, even though they existed on the horizon. The reason that they never saw the ships was because they had no knowledge in their brains or no experience that clipper ships existed. So the shaman starts to notice that there are ripples out in the ocean, he sees no ship but he starts to wonder what's causing the effect. So every day he goes out and looks, and looks, and looks, and after a period of time he is able to see the ships. And once he sees the ships, he tells everyone else that ships exist out there, because everyone trusted and believed in him, they saw them also. Crazy huh?

I've seen it and it made me feel like I took a drug haha, for comcast users its actually free for on-demand if you go into "premium channels" click "encore"(which should be free to ppl with on-demand) and than go to "all movies" and it should be way at the bottom.

I own the movie and basically form my religion around it. You have to be careful with this though, if you see the bonus features you will find that the creator is a bit wacky in the head (seriously.. she thinks she can talk with some guy that lived several hundred years ago), but all the information contained in the movie is legit. You also need a basic understanding of Physics to really know what they are talking about without having to rewind it a couple of times.
My favorite concept is that a person can actually walk through a wall, but it would take the entire world an infinite amount of time trying to walk through walls for that improbability to occur.

It IS a bad ass movie, but the clippers on the shore thing was a bit hoakey sounding to me. Things appear all the time that we dont expect, and that doesnt mean you need "ripples" to see them. That analogy doesnt work with me because, you cant see the ships until they get into a certain range that you can start to see them a little, and they would probably be like "hey, look at this tiny ass thing far away, do you see it? YES I see it now! thank you". Ripples in the water? You mean big ass waves? If a boat is in the ocean 2 miles away, I dont think chief tumbling dice is gonna see anything in the water. So, is the movie about quantum physics, or that Indians have supernatural powers because the are ancient and mystical.......Sounds wack. I never noticed the car coming over the other side of the hill. I would have hit it head on if you didnt point out the ripples b/c cars are not supposed to be driving on this side of the rd, so I didnt concieve it was possible......

Madman, they couldn't see it because they had never seen such an advanced boat before.
The brain works in probabilities. If you don't know what a boat is, then the brain doesn't factor that into its realm of probability.
