journey to SF for legal script...not what we'd hoped
So my roommate and I took a trip down to San Francisco to get legalized today. Its something we had been thinking about for a while and now we finally had the chance. My roommate had been seen previously (legitimately) at two separate outpatient clinics for anxiety problems. He was prescribed several different types of meds all of which did not help and in some cases made things worse.
Anyways, we went down to the clinic today with all the documentation in hand thinking this would be a sure fire thing since everybody talks about how easy it is to get a script in CA. To make a long story short, after waiting for over an hour (with an appointment), and after countless other crack heads went before us the doc had perplexing conclusions.
First off, since my roommate was recently laid off (less than two weeks ago) she had a problem recommending medical marijuana to someone who had just lost their job and was possibly using cannabis as a "last resort". She said things like: "well have you tried other alternatives?" and apparently wasn't even going to write a script initially. My roommate pressed a little saying that he knew what helped him already and it was marijuana. The doc in turn wrote a three month prescription instead of a full year. Her reasoning was that she wanted to "evaluate" him further to see if it was really necessary. So we left pretty pissed since now we have to drive again over 3 hours just to spend more money and waste more time again in three months.
I just think it really is a hit and miss thing with these doctors. It depends on what county you live in and your age level and of course several other factors. I think right off the bat she looked at this situation as a young male who was down and out trying to think of something, anything that would get him through it or that he was just simply growing so he could sell to get out of a financial hole. Either way, it is nice of her (the doc) the feel compassionate but at the same time, everybody who goes to these offices knows why they are there, including the doc so why beat around the bush?

damn dude that makes me nervous. i'm going in for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder next week...i really hope they buy it...
sucks though, for me its just a short 40 min drive but 3 hours? damn. i am young too tho, and that's a lotta bank for just a 3-month trial.
better luck next time
by the way, what clinic did you go to?
