i want to take a small glass piece from San Fran to Boston. I've never taken a piece on a plane but I've heard most people have good success with it. Any opinions?

tape it to your balls(if guy) tape it under a boob (if girl ....or really fat dude)
^ theres supposed to be another "hey" in your signature. By the way, just scrape out every fragment left of marijuana possible and claim its for smoking tabacco.
dont scrape it out CLEAN it out. Get some rubbing alcohol and salt/rice mix together and let your pipe soak in it, remove and wash under hott water. If you are over 18 they have no right to tell you, you cannot carry it unless there is resin in it then you are fucked for possesion of drug paraphernalia.I wouldnt carry it on your person either wrap it up and put it in your carry on or in your luggage.
Day Dream is right on with the approach, but rubbering alcohol *does* make glass brittle, I have tested this out. I've used boiling to great success, just boil the piece with the water, and let it cool with the water so its a gradual temp change. At least thats what I do...
yah but some people will get the heat up to high and teh glass will crack its not worth the risk. You can also get some forumla 4:20 from your local headshop that will work wonders. But the alcohol and salt has worked every time.
dude put it in the microwave in a glass for like 45 sec with the mouth up and the bowl down and fill it of the pipe with water it cleans it so fuckin fast its rediculous
You could just spare yourself the trouble by not bringing the pipe at all. Will it kill you not to?
when i left canada with my bowl i just tucked into a pair of jeans in the back pocket and when we landed and got my bag everything was fine , not saying its fool-proof but hey it worked for me
yea like day dreamin said, clean it out really good, don't leave any resin. if its not resinated, it's legal... at least in new york.
