Is Marijuana really harmlesss??? doing bad in college...

Now I have been smoking pot since I was about 16 (mostly on weekends) and on a daily basis just 3 months ago(now 19). I always feel normal after I smoke, but I start forgetting things without even realizing it. I would leave my car headlights on, forget to lock my appt, lose keys, and even lost my phone either while I was high or at least the same day. And since I am a college student, I thought I could smoke whenever I dont need to study. The problem with this is that suppose I smoke Saturday, or even Friday and have an exam Monday morning, I would stare at my notes for hrs on Sunday trying to study but in the end I would accomplish nothing and do horribly the next day. The only way I can get through school and not fail my exams, is if I give myself a 3-7 day smoke free period where I can regain my concentration and memory skills. Ive heard people say I dont need to do this and my friends would give me adderall, ritalin, or tell me to drink coffee but the truth is that none of this crap works. I guess I dont notice these things till I became a pothead, so has anyone else had similar experiences????

for some people being high makes it hard to concentrate on things. and for others it could be the opposite. If u ask me marijuana really is harmless...but if its effecting ur grades in college, i wouldnt over do it. Put ur grades before smoking pot.

why the fuck am i still awake.

when I'm smoke I personly am happy with what i have and work just enough hours to cover expenses of living. When I'm not high I get more agressive in every aspect. shorter temper, I work extreme overtime and save every penny barly buying food, smoke damn near 3 pack of ciggs a day, sleep like an hour a day, forgetfull, short attention span, get real parinoid and real pissed off at life. all in all I'm happier when I'm high. I scare the shit out of myself if i go too long with out smoking. but everyones different.

It's not the plant. It's you. It's your responsibility to get the work done, and for whatever reason you're not doing it when you should be. That's a motivation problem, not a marijuana problem. You're the one making the choice every time you put down the books and pick up the bong. Don't blame a plant for something that you chose not to do. It has been proven in experiments that its effect on memory and concentration last only as long as you're high, so you failing the test on Monday had absolutely nothing to do with you smoking up on Friday and everything to do with you not putting enough time/effort into learning the material.

You REALLY cant blame your problems on weed. If you know you cant study when stoned, then dont get stoned. Doesnt mean it's the weed. It's like people saying weed makes them lazy - and i say BULLSHIT. People make themselves lazy, and blame weed. Coz if you blame it on the weed, it's not your fault is it? It's just shifting the blame. Sorry if this seems harsh, but it's true. It's your problem, from you. Not from the weed.

You know what? Everyone can say "Studies say" and "It's been proven," but weed's like any other drug. It has various effects on various people, not all of them effects that show up in what very limited studies have been done. I found it robbed me of my motivation to do anything--mostly the relaxation/couch-lock effect. And it affected my memory for up to three days. If you think it's giving you problems and things are better schoolwise without it, then go with your own response and abstain. Just like jaGerbom said, college and grades should come first.

In my opinion it sounds like you're blaming the weed. You have to get motivated yourself, i can do english/philospohy/french essays or whatever all while blazed out of my mind. Weed isn't an excuse in my book. About forgetting stuff, i never really get that so i can't comment. I will say you definately don't need to take a 7 day break because you have a test coming up, that is ridiculous.

everyones diferent... it will effect ppl in many ways... ive heard of ppl smoking and their grades go up or stay the same... but then others have drops... im sure if u rlly tried u could smoke and still do rlly well... but if u cant then dont smoke as much... maybe wen u have a long weekend or a fair amount of time wen nothing needs to be done

"it is not what man puts in his mouth, but what comes out of mans mouth". i do agree that mary jane can make you feel lethargic and forgetful, but like the others say, you cant let that be your excuse. and if it is hindering your schoolwork, save it for the weekends.

Motivated stoners are the best. Get your shit done before you go off and get high.
