Hey, guyz what do ya think of this 250 w CFL? [Moving from HIDs to CFLs] (+)

Hi there! I've got some questions to CFL gurus :)

Previously I had 400 w MH/HPS light but eventually have decided to move to CFL's as more compact and with both less heat and noise solution. Do you think 250w CFL will be enough for 2-3 plants?

Cost of this light with reflector and mogul base is $90... what do you think? Or it is better to have several ones but with less wattage (and different spectrum light)?

Another thing is that MH/HPS light gave off so much heat that it was really annoying because I had to install additionally powerful and noisy (at maximum levels) fan in my box. For CFL I'd like to have about 2 x 2 x 5-7 feet grow box and was wondering what you guys think of how much heat this 250 w CFL lamp will give. I surely will install my adjustable fan but want it to operate at that level when it doesn't bother my ears at all. Seriously speaking, I thought I was going to become insane becase of the buzz form my HID ballast and fan. :)

PS: now I understand that I was stupid to overlook CFL option of growing because now watching and reading logs I think this is the best one! Silence, minimal heat, no fire hazards, reduced bills, and finally cost of equipment - IDEALLY :)

its an envirolight. :) if you do a search theres loads of info about them in the cultivation section! there good for veg and come in 2 spectrums - red and blue = warm and white.. there not the best for flowering. A 400w HID gives off substantially more lumens then an 250w enviro.

Mobay done a great grow with these cfl tom .I think they were 200 watt though or 125 watt but his yeild was exellent he has the reflector that holds 4. I was thinking of giving these a try myself in the summer to combat heat i have a 4x reflector lying in the shed so mayebe watch your results first but if they are anything like mobays you will be well happy.be safe the postman.

yea i use them for early veg 125ww cool (there really good at keeping the plant bushy!). i did a grow with a 200w warm last year got bout 3 oz of a ww. But i have no way near the amount of grow experience as Mobay! :D

Yea i saw that 4 light reflector, they do a six as well, as well as a parabolic reflector. there good for keeping the heat down 2.
