Donating blood

Im supposed to donate thursday will they turn the blood down for thc or do they even care

I just thought that earlier.

When I was REALLY broke, the hubby and I would give blood. Turned out that the cute little gal doing the blood collecting lived a couple of blocks from us and was a head, too! Bobbie had the nicest touch with the needle. Got to be friends with her and her hubby, Van. (If you two are reading this, give me a yell!) About the only problem that could occur is if some poor soul was allergic to cannabis.- Granny:hippy:

I was wondering about that too actually. I've thought a lot about donating blood, but of course it's full of THC, not to mention synthetic opiates. Lol, could somebody with a really low tolerance get the blood of somebody with a lot of morphine or oxy or something and get high? Well probably not but it's a funny thought...

They don't check, I'm pretty sure by the time it gets put in someone any drugs that may be in the blood have broken down, plus to make it last longer they may spin it down to plasma

Im pretty sure I've donated blood while I was stoned before. I think unless it is a deadly chemical in your blood they won't care.

I donate blood all the time and nothing has been mentioned yet :thumbsup: More people should donate blood. Really not that bad at all :jointsmile:

I worked at a plasma center and I can you tell you they don't check for drugs. Just HIV, HEP B and C, and at our place Syphillis also. The only thing is you have to make sure not to smoke before you donate because it can raise your pulse and blood pressure and those have to fall within certain guidelines. Also you can make a hell of alot more money donating plasma. With blood you can only donate every 56 days-that's how long it takes to regenerate RBC's. But with plasma you can donate twice a week as long as you eat right and are always well hydrated.

Up here in Canada we don't get squat for donating blood. Just the feeling you've done something nice :thumbsup:
