I`m afraid a 1000W hydro grow room is using to much electricity....18h of light a day.....how much power can you use before the electric company start`s looking at you home ?
I / we have a small home 500 KWH a month in the winter and maybe 1000 KWH a month in summer
none's gonna bother you, besides u shouldnt be running a 1000wtter for 18 hrs, u should use flouros for the 18hr cycle and thr 1000wttr for the 12 hr cycle, that is if its an hps 1000wtt not a mh.
well it is a MH for veg and a HPS for flower...you see i just got the ligth 6"air hood MH & HPS very nice but i cost alot (350$)...so ye i rely want to use it.....i do not want to go out and buy more shitt..
YOUR FINE PUT CFL'S IN YOUR REGULAR LIGHT SOCKETS THEY USE LESS WATTS. WHEN YOU GET TO 12 AND 12 RUN THE LIGHT AT NIGHT. CHEAPER ELECTRICITY AFTER HOURS AND LESS SUSPICIOUS. ALSO LIMIT YOUR ELECTICAL USUAGE ON OTHER THINGS IN YOUR HOME. BUT MOST IMPORTANT
PAY YOUR DAMN BILL ON TIME...THE ELECTRIC COMPANY WILL LOVE YOU FOR THE INCREASE IN USAGE.

1000w light is per hour usage so if you use it 24 hours a day the 1kwh is 24/day for where I live that translates to less than 80 bucks a month it depends on your kw hour at 10cents per kw hour it's like 75 bucks if used straight all month and less than 40 if on a 12/12 cycle...the electric company isn't going to have any idea or interest in finding out what appliance you now have that's upped your average usage by less than 100 bucks a month...the man isn't looking for someone growing for personal use anyway cause thousands upon thousands do...they are looking for houses that are dedicated to growing and are pumping out lbs of the stuff...besides having an electric water heater uses a ton more than that light anyway so it's not like it points to pot growth...
Don't worry bout the cops comin for ya dude and if they did you can be for damn sure it wasn't the electricity use that got their attention in the first place...
I gotta agree with yeag cfl'ss use way less juice to put out the same light, anyone that wants to save money in electricity and money on bulbs and change them less often should use them for lighting...it's an all win situation so I can't see how people haven't done it yet...I can't remember the exact statistic but I think it was quoted on some tv show that one cfl exchanged for a regular incandescent?sp? is like taking a million cars off the road per year that's pretty sick if ya ask me

10 watts of florsents is 10 watts no more no less
CPF are a worthless as most of the bulbs serface is not going down , and with a 100% reflective serface its only 96% at best.
Thats why you full service , mag. ballast. The electronic ballast eat bulbs and have a short 1/2 life
Using full service , mag. ballast 4 ft shop light are the beat way to go
Use the full service bulbs and ballast , with cool white till at the time to bloom.
Remember to trim to the point of 1/2 the total heigh at bloom. Note some strains will go 3 times the grow heigth.
Now yeild roughly 1000 grams net over 2 months from a 1000 watt bulb is .5 grams. The best I have seen is .6 grams .
Something to note, that was a scrog system with dirt.
Next , use all florsents in you house, turn off all non running things , by unpluging them. TV,VCR, printers all have a instant on this uses more power.
Power company want to sell you power , if you pay for it.
ONE thing to look out for is a polling meter , its the new electronic digital display. They can tell when you use , how much power , and when you turned it on.
If you grow look normal , act normal and fly low. AND never tell anybody you grow, NO exceptions , None , Nada , nope. The ass you save will be your owne
I`m using cfl`s in the hole house and have used cfl for abut 1 year now I do not think there is anything else I can do to cut power cost.....and I do run the grow room at night gust for the fact that the night`s are cooler so my light`s do not heat the grow room or house to 80 or 90 F
(my grow room is 72 F , use 1 20" box fan and a water mister and H is 70-80% ) and I got the KWH TO DAY AND IT`S 0.050 KWH so 1000W x 18H pr day x 0.050 $ kwh = 900 / 1000 = 0.90
so I will cost me 0.90 $ for 1 day of 18 H or 6.30 $ pr week ?
+ water pump + fan

This is an insane post. D00d, set your bill up to be paid electronically (debited directly from your checking account). They send you an ebill, you authorize for them to take the money on the 18th of the month for example. Its DONE ! NOBODY ever sees a hardcopy of the bill, including you. AND, the fucking power company is so happy they want to piss themselves to get feelin all warm and fuzzy because you are a paying customer they NEVER need to fuck with. You WITH ME NOW ?
I should not need to say this, but if you grow, you keep the lawn mowed, you dont decide to collect junk cars on cinder blocks in your front yard, and MOST importantly you keep the fucking bills paid ON TIME, EVERYTIME. You dont want people looking around your shit.
And, if you are this paranoid, stop growing. Thats the simple solution.
