I read that it often grows wild in wastelands and spreads pretty easily. i ask because we planted some seeds in this old field next door and they are just sprouting up. So as long as i kinda water them wont they pretty much do ok? im not looking for any real good buds from them or anything i was just curious what would happen. Im sorry if i posted this in the wrong place...
imo, what most fail to consider is that YES; it IS a plant, it WILL grow if you let it. might not produce the best yeild without attention and nutes, but it will grow.
In the summer of '03 a mate of mine was given a few seeds and he just planted them in his garden, coverd them with a plastic sheet and chucked some water over it daily. He only had one plant grow but it gave about two ounces. Was actually some very nice bud too.
So yeah, given my expirience they should grow. Although to be honest i know nothing about the subject.
I plan on doing this in about a month...never grown n e thing before though
watch out for deer or small critters that like to eat a tasty young cannabis plant.
Yes it is a weed.
Marijuana is a weed and it can grow anywhere that's suitable for any other weed. Thing about it is we grow it for buds. So of course it could grow anywhere but if you are expecting nice lookin' potent buds don't think it's gonna happen in a dirt ass environment.
A weed by definition is an unintended plant!
So if one has a nice rose garden with a few unwanted dandelions growing. The dandelions are weeds. But if one has a nice big dandelion garden (people eat the leafs) then dandelions aren’t weeds.
The only “biological” basis to call something a weed, I guess, would be if a plant is very invasive. Like dandelions, buttercup and blackberries.
One could call cannabis a weed because it grows well in such varying conditions, but to me it will never be a weed.
It's a pretty hearty plant, and it's the only one that can grow on every continent (I've never heard of it on Antarctica, but it's apparently possible - though takes some doing). Somebody tossed some seeds in a corner of their room and it grew out of their baseboards, actually.
i had some seeds grow out of my baseboard....and grew for about 3 weeks then died
