Hey,

I have a song stuck in my head thats pretty new. It sounds like a reggae/hip hop beat, and in the chorus they say "summmerrrttiimme". Anyone know what the name of it is?

Did you know that song was originally written by Gershwin, and is believed the be the most covered song of all time? I've always really liked Miles' version.

Sublime is a band which, on paper, I should have hated, but surprised me. They surprised me, a lot, actually.

Summertime, which is a wonderfully sultry, summery song, riffs on (well, references) Gershwin's "Summertime."

But by far, the best version of Summertime is Janis Joplin's, which is one of the most stunning covers ever performed, right up there with Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower.

If you've never heard the Janis Joplin version, I highly recommend seeking it out. It is otherworldly.
