This movie is absolutely hilarious. He's a fucking genius if you ask me (Cohen). If you look at Borat as compared to say, Ali G...so different yet so unique....yet the same person.

The movie does get a bit disturbing at points, but it's all in good fun. I love controversy, and this shit hits the spot...some people across the world need to lighten up a bit.

Borat, his producer, the prostitute, and Pam Anderson (Cohen's friend) were the only actual actors in the movie. Everyone else was just along for the ride. It's said that they filmed over 400 hours of film for the flick. Another neat fact is that Borat had the cops called on him 91 times during shooting LOL.

It's out on DVD now with some deleted scenes and shit, so I suggest you check it out if you already haven't, unless you are a bitch about race or religion or gender, as in that case...stay clear of the movie.

those dumb college dudes are suing them for defamation of character or something.

i say its their fault for being the chauvenist dicks they really are.

Yeah, but the thing is...all of the "participants" (people that didn't know it was for a movie) had to sign forms that disabled deformation and humiliation (the college kids did make themselves look like absolute shitheads)....which kinda sucked for some of the people, I must admit, but oh well....now you're in a huge move that made soooo much money in the box office. They didn't really know that when making the movie, which is interesting why they filmed so much. They didn't have a clue it would be a hit.

i would think they just had to sign a waiver.

edit:waiver or release or whatever.

i dunno what else they expected. youre gettin filmed while gettin trashed, figure it out!

MacWQ33

I know LOL! (they all signed a waiver to not sue for defamation or shit like that)....some of the situations I wonder why there was taping in the first place. But, the thing was...that those people actually believed in the character of Borat. They thought he was a real person from a foreign country, which makes it even more hilarious.

Yeah, like the guy who was doing the rodeo...he was talking shit about Jews and blacks seriously, and that shit was not cool. That was one part of the movie I didn't like, but I'm sure he got some shit for that. Fucking Southern racist bastard....you should notice, there are only white people at the rodeo (I know, it's the south)..."racism still alive, they just be conceiling it".

Yeah man, I'm pretty sure he got shit for that...like when Borat said they 'hang' those people in his land (homo-sexuals,obviously a joke), and that guy said he wishes they did that here...that's fucked. Same with the college kids, one of them said he wished we had slaves here...and now they're sueing?!?!? Fuck him, that's hedious, I'm glad the world saw his fucked up antics.

something sasha baron cohen really brings to light with his characters is how so many americans can be so forcefull with there opinions, alot of the people (usually upper class) seem to think their way of living is THE way of living, and that somehow they are perceived by the public as 'normal', when we all know homosexuality is often percieved in the same light as christianity... and NOTHING is 'normal'...

...IMO Borat beats his other character Ali G but i do find him still funny as hell, now i cant wait for his queer fashion character to hit the screens, that shit will be fucking hilarious

So, apparently Ali G and Borat really ARE the same person, then right? I have watched the Ali G videos and he has skits from Borat, but I wasn't sure if he was just making fun of Borat or if he really WAS Borat...then when I saw the movie in the movie store...I thought he looked exactly like him...

SO, he IS the same guy? Ha. Well, I think it's kind of funny stuff (the Ali G stuff), but some of it is a little dry and "trying too hard to be funny." But it seems like it should be good.

Soo..ok. I haven't seen the movie yet. I almost rented it a couple weekends ago with my gf, but we rented several other movies...and that one was put back on the shelf. I will soon watch it. Maybe tonight. I saw somewhere that has it on the web. :)

yeah, you must be.

I went to see it the day it came out in Britain. The whole cinema (this particular sxreen) were in stiches. Its funny from the first minute, right up until the last. Constant laughs throughout, and a few genuinely side-splittingly moments. It is fucking hillarious, definately the funniest film I have seen.
