Normal heart rate, not sure. All I know is that's what chronic does to ya! I doubt it's bad for ya, but let's wait and see if anyone posts any scientific evidence on the subject :D

It all depends on your age, weight, sex and all that other good stuff.
But generally a normal heart weight for an adult is anywhere from 60 beats a minute to 100 beats a minute.
Here is something that tells you how to test your heart rate.
To measure the pulse at the wrist, place the index and middle finger over the underside of the opposite wrist, below the base of the thumb. Press firmly with flat fingers until you feel the pulse. To measure the pulse on the neck, place the index and middle finger just to the side of the Adam's apple, in the soft, hollow area. Press firmly until the pulse is located.
Once you find the pulse, count the beats for 1 full minute, or for 30 seconds and multiply by 2. This will give the beats per minute.

That's wierd, the only time in particular I can think of was when I was smoking and it was EXTREMELY sketchy and I was freaking out and I thought my heard was going to burst out mf my chest, which freaked me out even more.

I recall my friend talking about how she was so afraid she was going to have a heart attack everytime she smoked weed. I tried to tell her it was just the chronic and nothing to worry about but she insisted on going to the doctor and asking them and even they asked her if she had been doing drugs :X.
By the way, does anyone know what kind of bud produces this effect, sativa or indica?

On these new meds i've been checking out my heart rate, it's been around 100 when still lately. I have seen my rate before the meds and it was around 70. On weed my heart rate doesn't change much if at all. So I dunno anything about what's wrong with you. Maybe you have some anxiety, sativa's will agitate my anxiety and anxiety increases the heart rate so...
Yesterday I smoked for the first time in a while... some strong stuff too. I could fucking feel the vibrations of my heart in my ears. When I took the pulse it was about 168 beats per min, so i layed down next to the toilet cause I was already coming down with a sickness, but it wasn't bad.
I ended up throwing this high away by napping it off..Way too intense when just coming back to smoking after a few weeks.

Normal heart rate for someone who's teenaged or adult is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. A very athletic person has a slower heart rate, generally, between 40 and 60. Smoking weed raises your heart rate and blood pressure, especially right after smoking. Cigarettes do the same thing. That's why weed increases your risk of heart attacks and rhythm problems in that early after-smoking period. It's also irritating to the lungs, which'll also affect your heart rate.

I don't know exactly, I wasn't there with her, I figure she just told him that sometimes she would have a panic attack type of thing and her heart feels like it was about to jump out of her chest. They made her take a drug test, but she was clean thanks to my pro tips! lol

Yeah, normal for a healthy person is 50-90 bpm, with most people having a heart rate around 60-80. Over 100 should be alarming to you. A good heart rate *while exercising* is 120-160 usually, depending on your age and the type of training you're doing. If smoking raises your heart rate that much you should probably smoke less or talk to a doctor about it.
Cannabis does elevate the heart rate (usually in response to lowered systemic blood pressure). You can try some deep breathing exercises if your heart rate is slightly elevated but if it is 168 that is alarming - to me, at least. Be careful.

Additionally - if you are panicky you may THINK your heart rate is elevated, when it actually isn't. My husband often thinks his heart is going to explode when he smokes (that's why he quit) but I take his heart rate at those times and it is normal. Look at a clock and take your actual heart rate if you're in doubt.
Its normal. A side effect of marijuana is tachycardia which is an increased and sometimes irregular heartbeat. Its nothing too serious for a healthy heart.

For a short period of time, such as exercising (people can get anywhere from 120-180 bpm with exercising) 180 will not kill you, under normal and healthy circumstances. However, if you heart rate is 180+ for an extended period of time, say during a cardiac episode (heart attack, atrial fib, or ventricular fib), or an overdose of a particularly dangerous drug, yes, it very well may damage your heart to the point of cardiac arrest, or death.
The increase of bpm during smoking is usually within the same range as moderate cardio exercise, and unless you have pre existing heart issues, it shouldn't be much of a problem. If it were, everyone at gyms would be collapsing over with heart attacks :p

Well usually heart rate increase isn't a big thing for me. If it does happen it only happens for about 5 mins..10 mins max. But most of the time my heart rate doesn't really beat all that much faster than it does when I'm sober and if it does then I really don't notice the difference.

hmm mine used to after my long breaks of not smoking.
smoking again, i'd get so jittery because my heart beat was racing so fast. then i got paranoid that my heart was going to explode, not anymore though. ;P
