Do bongs lessen the effects?

Yeah, you can take much bigger hits with bongs because they cool down the smoke so you can handle more. My friend had this awesome bong, I took 3 hits and was nicely high. I'm pretty experienced smoker too it's not like i would usually get high off that.

I always its nice to smoke a few joints at the beggining of the night to get nicely stoned so you can sit there and chat and have a laugh and play wii (greatest stoner accesory) When it gets late and people feel tired you move on to the bongs which ruin your brain so you can watch a film.

You're from the UK, where 99.5% of people smoke spliffs. How many people do you know with a bong?

Bongs are very effective for getting high. Say a person smokes a spliff with 0.7 in it. Another person smokes 2 bongs; one 0.3 and one 0.4

It would definately NOT lessen the effects. Not at all. Theoretically, i believe because both persons would've smoked 0.7, both would have the same amount of highness.

Bongs get you higher since theres less carcinogens and more thc smoke, plus it condenses more when its in the chamber so you get more in a hit.

Bongs are way more efficent then spliffs, spliffs burn away in your hand between puffs, where as in a bong, the chamber collects all the smoke in between tokes, and is more effective :D

I think the thing about bongs is it enables you to take bigger (and perhaps more) hits before throat irritation sets in, but this MAPS study would seem to indicate that of all the smoking methods out there, bongs are the least efficient, THC-wise.

So, you can, in theory, get higher because you can smoke a fair amount more, but you're wasting more THC in bongs (which is, contrary to the common wisdom, apparently at least partially soluble in water). As to whether or not you save some on having less sidestream smoke, I do not know, but the answer is not cut and dry.

Bongs definitely give me a stupider high. I mean, with a bong, I just feel IQ points drain away. Which, somewhat alarmingly, I quite enjoy from time to time.

Well with a bong you are manually burning the weed yourself, so it all depends on the person when it comes to how fast it burns. Most people for whatever reason think the idea is to torch the entire bowl, so this is why I tend to hate bongs for group smoking. For group smoking, joints and blunts are much better since it eliminates not only this, but also the problem where most of the THC is consumed by the first person. But if you are by yourself, or with others that actually know what they are doing (light sections/corner) bongs are the best.
