For all the unlucky bastards..living in the rat race.

Sun raises, You wake, Like ants...we work. The sun sets. we rest. Than repeat the same rounte over again. Only aging and growing weaker..

"Bright and early for there daily races, Going no where. Their tears are filling up their glasses, No expressions..

I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very
Mad world"

How do you guys do it?

It's all in you perspective of things.

I have worked at the same job for 2 years...

...and it has given me the opportunity to meet many great people.

...sure I live in a small town where people would assume it's always the same.

..but we make our own lives. You party...go to the bars....go snowboarding at the mountain....go 4 wheeling....in the summer its all about the river trips and camping trips.

Sure, work can bog one down..but work is what makes you appreciate the life outside of work.

You create your own reality, and it doesn't have to be the same everyday.

For me, I enjoy my simple small town lifestyle..
...I often do the same things, but I appreciate those things...especially since I have moved away and tried a whole new routine and realized how much I loved my old one.

Sometimes ya just gotta try somethin' new in life to find out what you really want.

Ya gotta make life interesting.

..and yes, there is always alcohol.

:)

Life is all about the nature, your connections, pot, and experiences..oh and love of course...

:) I enjoy it....sure, it sucks sometimes...but I always go those river trips to lookforward to..

and it sounds corny and stupid but if you had a dog you could talk to it and its kind of a cognitive therapy type thing.

youll find yourself less depressed.

its been proven that it works, cognitive therapy. maybe not on everyone, but it does work a lot. otherwise that field of psychology wouldnt still be employed.

dude get a badass dog. you can take it to the beach and do all sorts of rad stuff with it.

and if youre single, you might consider it a chick magnet. ;) haha!

hobbies cost money no matter what you look at it... well if you made little figures out of cardboard or something, it really wouldn't... but any hobby (atlast imo) worth doing costs money.. use to be building models, but when you get into it, they can start racking up money easily...

paints
glues
of course the model
brushes
velet carpet fiber

ect ect..

everyday may be the same to you, but the events during the day are different, yes it may be true that you go to work everyday, do the same things everyday, but you dont think of the same things, or talk about the same things everyday do you?

I think it's time for you to start working again, at least in some way. I frankly think the sitting around all the time adds to the depression, and goodness knows it adds to the money tightness. I know there are all sort of reasons you say you can't. But I think you're wasting your talents. You need to do something with that cooking talent! And it CAN be done.

I go in, work my 8 hours, and then do whatever I feel like. I work from 3p-11p, so I have time to party afterwards, and time to rest up before work. It's perfect.

And I only work about 4 days a week

I'm actually quite depressed that the human race is doing such a shitty job of preserving our future. I see a shitty future where the majority of people are poor because our economy collapsed. Or another yet also shitty future would be if we found a way to sustain our population and keep growing. Imagine that planet in star wars that was a city. I rather die.

I enjoy what we have now because it probably won't be there in the future. Then we die and nothing matters. Make the best of life.

I don't really know how I do it, to be honest. I realize all of these truths about humanity all the time and each day I feel like we are more primitive than evolved, and that we are, for the most part, getting worse. I feel as though we are no better than animals most of the time, and it really drops my moral throughout the day. I guess the few small things in life that I actually do enjoy are what keep me going..

slipknotpsycho

well if you got money for weed then you got money for hobbies right?

actually i don't have money for weed, even if i had money for it i still have no connection... but yeah, we never could really afford to get it... we barely scrape by at all...

bird o.0 trust me i can't get a job... and it's not even that i won't... well i could get a job at a fast food place again, but i absolutely refuse to go back to that... cuz i'd have to go back to my old job, where my old boss knows i work hard (because of the circumstances involved.. i only got that job because my wife was workin there and she talked him into trying me out) and i will not go back there, because they do not pay me nearly enough for what i do... i was making 5.15 to literally run the whole damn kitchen by myself while all the lazy fucks there stood around chit chatting...

the whole place is one big family, everyone's related to someone, so complaining would be pointless... if we'd get slow, have no orders and i was standing around, i'd get yelled at, and this dude can fuckin yell... but we get busy and i'm busting my ass while everyone else stands around taking their sweet time and yapping their mouths, he doesn't say two words to them... so i'm sure you can understand why i refuse to go back there... if they wanna have me doing everyone's jobs, they better pay me everyone's pay as well...

skink - that's one hell of a commute :stoned:

I actually devote myself to doing great things... in the hopes that one day might be different.

And until that day, I enjoy myself as much as I can, try to involve myself instead of merely bitching from the sidelines, hang out with friends, and of course, listen to NIN (among others).

why don't you ask a local garage or gas station service station if they need a hand? If you don't have qualified exprience, ask if you can help out for a few days and show them your abilities.

cuz there's more to it then i have no real work experience, except fast food, no high school diploma.. the city is filled to the brim with people who don't have jobs, more qualified then me, waiting for their chance to get a job....

hell, a friend of mine JUST got a job after over a year of loooking for one, and he had everything going for him, long work experience (well longer hten me) high school diploma, his own transportation ect... and the only and i mean ONLY reason he got the job in the first place was because the wife kept telling her manager to hire him...

the whole no job thing only got worse durring katrina...

o.0 i'd really prefer to quit debating over this.. i have tried to get a job, i've went all over this town filling out applications, following up, begging, everything.. just trust that i know what i'm talking about...

Brown shoes don't make it
Brown shoes don't make it
Quit school, why fake it?
Brown shoes don't make it?

Watch your brother grow a beard
Got another year of school

Be a plumber He's a bummer
He's a bummer every summer
Be a loyal plastic robot
For a world that doesn't care

Smile at every *ugly*
Shine on your shoes and cut your hair

Be a jerk and go to work Be a jerk and go to work

You have hit the nail on the head...in itself life is not interesting. It is the mark of the person which makes life interesting - either for themselves or others...if you can't find life interesting, then you are boring
