i used stinkys method for takin clones and it worked great.. after i saw a taproot coming out of the rapid rooter i took the clone out and put it under a 400 watt ma (the clone originally came off the top under a 1000 watt hps) with my other veg plants that were only on there week 3 nutes.. i put them in and they got fed a few times now they flopped over totally and look dead ??? what did i do wrong?

Do you have a picture you could post? Without one it's tough to say but I'll try
I see 2 possibilities...the 400 watt light might have been too close and they weren't able to drink as fast as they needed because the root structure wasn't recovered fully since it was cut...or maybe the nute strength was way to high for such tiny plants...I'm not sure how much food you can give tiny plants but a lot of people say not to give any food till you see 4 nodes you could probably get away with a tiny amount of food but when they are small you have to be careful in the future I would not put a 2 inch tall plant next to a much larger plant if they feed from the same res...
It's possible they aren't dead yet if you can flush them out with just water a few times they may recover alright I had the same problem and mine flopped over like they were touched by the reeper only to perk back up again once I fixed the nutes
If ya can't get a pic offer up some more info on light distance, nute strength and what the setup is like were they in the same res with much bigger (hungrier) plants
best of luck

after my clones have a taproot that is coming threw the bottom of the rapid rooter cube.. what should i do with them? here is the situation..
i have a 400 watt hps set up that has some new ones in it that are on week3 nutes for veg.. my plan was to eventually get these clones which were takin from week 5 veg of other ones and put them under the same light with teh same nutes as the week 3 veg's.. kuz i figured since they came from week 5 veg before they could handle week 3 nutes.. so i put two of the cuttings which had taproots in the week3 setup and they both flopped over like the nutes were burning them.. should i just lave them under the floro light and keep misting them twice a day until they have more roots and then try again? or should i water them by hand? what should i do am i gona have to start a whole new setup with week1 nutes?

only feed your your clones the same strenght you whould when you feed your plants for the first time 1/4 strength is all thats needed and a drop or 2 of superthrive good luck dude, and the light might to strong for the clones try and get a envolite or some flos for the first week after the clones have rooted

ok what i mean is.. one i have the clones with the main taproot coming out, how do i have to treat them for a week until they get enough nutes to go under either 400 mh for veg or 1000 hps for flower? can i just lave them in the humidome on the heatpad and feed them by spray 1/4 nute strength for a week and then put them under 1000 watt hps? my main problem is that i want to keep them as a mother but my veg system is being used by others that are 3 weeks in veg.. so i was planning on just putting the rooted clones in with them after like a week of feeding them 1/4 nute strenghth by spraying them in the humidome and leaving them under floro.. will this work? is it possibly to move them right from the humidome after a week of 1/4 nute strenghth and then put them in a veg system no matter what week nutes they're on .. the original clone came from a plant that was in week5 of veg under 1000 watt hps so what should i do? ui hope u gets can understand it

I usually get roots and only hit my plants with roughly 250-300-ppm nute solution. I would also watchout for how close the light is to the clones. I'd start a ways away 12-18" and go closer after a couple of days. I also forgot to add. ** Did you clone under a humidity dome?** YOu may not have let them adjust to their environment and that is more likely what happend...

you killed them with too much light

when clones have rooted dont do nothing with them for next 1 week, just leave them and water lightly and wait for some real good roots,if you try to rush them or mess about with them too soon they will DIE

This is pretty good advice. But, for hydro, once the roots show I like to put the clone in a 3" rockwool cube, then into the tray after a week or so.
Right now, get rid of the humidity dome and foliar spray. Those were only to keep the cutting alive while it was using the leaves instead of the non-existent roots for nutrition. Now that you have roots, you want to encourage them to grow. If the plants get a little droopy when you first remove the dome, go ahead and mist them. But try to get them off the foliar as soon as they will handle it. I use 1/4 nutes for a few days, then bump it up to 1/2 for a few more days then go to full nutes. Once they are handling full nutes by themselves, then put them in with the other plants.
Good luck!

Dose it really matter how old a thread is,as ive learnt alot from reading old threads,it just make the thread more complete cos now they should all no that you shouldent try rushing clones under HID lamps and pumping them full of food to early on.

I just started 12 plants in Coco Coir under a 600W HPS bulb. 9 of the clones are taking off! 3 look like they are going to die. I'm not sure why I didn't have 100% success. It is my first grow though.
