I have to much free time on my hands and feel like writing a research paper. I have recently realized today while working on a usage paper, I don't write nearly enough. Especially considering I hope to one day land a job as a researcher for a university, tech writer, or any other number of writing based careers.
I figured since I plan on doing this, I may as well try and make it something that could be used here. I was wondering if any of you noticed anything that this site could use.
I have noticed a lot of posts in the past asking for information about cannabis to share with their parents who recently found out they smoke. I am considering something along those lines. A factual paper about cannabis along with sources, etc.
If you feel there is no need for the above let me know. If you feel there is something else that would be better let me know.
I feel like writing SOMETHING, so let me know what you would like to see added to this site, if anything, and I will pick one informative topic to write about. I may end up writing multiple things, I plan on doing something similar for practice once every couple weeks. I'm very apathetic though, so it may end after the first thing I write...
Since I will be doing this anyway, I may as well try and write something to benifit the only site I visit on a regular basis.
Please note:
I do not guarantee the quality of my writing. :)

i've got a couple studies that i could send you if you want...i wrote a paper last semester on the misconceptions of marijuana, and how we need to break down the negative stereotypes it has by educating people on it.

simple, compile the information (in-debatle information, shit with plenty of sources providing the same findings) proving marijuana is safe... write the report, with your own words, but at the end/back have atleast 3 refrences for every fact stated in your report... including exact website links to the info....
hardcore, verfiable info..

Here are the sources I used, most of them are studies that you probably won't be able to find online, unless you have access thru a university. Like I said tho, let me know if you want me to send you the PDFs of actual studies! Good luck.

Dutch Lover,
I would be very interessted to see them. I may not use it, but I still think it would be fun to look over. You can email me at the yahoo screen name I have in my profile. I really appreciate it.
I have access to a ton of online databases thanks to my university. The reason I even thought to do it was because I have access to all this info for a short period of time. I highly doubt I will come across this wide a range of free databases in the future. I know I can view a lot of articles and studies, but am interessted in what you have.
Thank you.
Skink,
I will pick something I think I will enjoy doing, but am looking for some other ideas.
Sam, I like the stereotype idea.

hey jagged, so would i email you at the screenname shown in your profile, and then yahoo.com after it? i haven't used the email function on here yet.
I have 2 cannabis studies finding benefits, a few links and also a few studies that i labelled as "neutral", basically they did research on common misconceptions about MJ and found nothing bad. So i suppose they really are positive. anyways, since you have access to the databases that is a wonderful resource- have fun searching!!!

guarenteed by what?
i think i did a good job criticizing the studies i found, for example, when i was doing my research i noticed that the ONLY 2 anti-cannabis studies happened to be published by the same journal. One study had been funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA], part of the US Department of Health and Human Services. They are very anti-cannabis, as u can see from their website. It's very likely that SAMHSA gave the researchers money in return for the researchers to support SAMHSA's claim that MJ is evil.
