Have not smoked in a few months, but I have been around it, ie. in a car with people who were smoking.
I had to take an urine test for pre-employment. Is there any chance I would fail a urine test, just by being around it and not smoking it at all. Thanks to anyway who helps.

nah. you shouldnt have to worry.
....unless you were doing some serious hotboxing and everyone in the sess. had their own blunt. otherwise, you should be fine.
from what i've heard it takes A LOT of passive smoke for a persons urine sample to come up positive for marijuana.
from past and other's experiances, when/if you fail a drug test the MRO ususally calls and asks you if you know why you would fail a drug test.
the most obvious cop out that people try to use is that they inhaled second hand smoke from being around it (ie. hotboxing). From what i understand this isn't an acceptable answer based soley on the fact that it would take a massive amount of smoke to be inhaled. therefore, the person would be inexcued from their positive test. this leads me to believe that, because they(medical review officer or whatever) do not excuse second hand smoke as a possible reason for a positve test, then it isn't a factor at all to weather or not you passed.
hope this was clear and helped.

I have one more question for you guys and gals. I took the test at Quest Diagnostics. If I failed, how long would it take before I was notified and would Quest notify me or would the employer notify me. Please a quick reply b/c this is driving me nuts. Thanks again.
