Well, I'm 16, and I didn't really notice this until maybe two or three years ago. I'm not sure if I just never noticed before, or if it is something semi-new. There are basically two things that are fucked up.

For one, my sternum is indented further than usual. You know how most people have a slight indent in between their pecs? Well, mine isn't slight; my chest dips in at least an inch. It bugs me, and I have no idea what to do about it. I have done some research and turned up, for the most part, nothing. I'm considering going to the doctor if I cannot find anything out.

Then, there's this. There's the spot where your ribcage begins, slightly above your belly button. If you suck in your chest, you can see this, with two points on both sides of your stomach/chest sticking out that's bone. This shit sticks out more than normal. Enough to create permanent lovehandles on either side of my torso. Very annoying.

I've never had any broken ribs, been in any accidents, or anything of that sort. The only thing I can think of is that I am pretty skinny. Am I just lacking muscle? Or did my ribs develop funny? I did my best to describe this without posting pics, but if you all still cannot figure out what I'm describing, I will try. Any comments or tips are welcome. I really want to fix this, and I'm hoping there is a way that isn't surgery. Thanks.

My ribcage shows. Also on my hipbone on one side there is a slight indented bump and on the opposite side there is a bump pushing outwards.

All my ribs use to show when I was younger. Even now I think I am missing a rib or something. Don't think anything is wrong with us.

certainty is best. go to a doctor. if that doctor is an idiot, which they tend to be, just eat lots of protein and start a bulk-enhancing workout regimen, if you haven't already. If it turns out to be something else, at least your overall health will be improved.

i have exactly what you have my friend.......and the only reason to go to the doctor is to get it corrected. which is purely cosmetic.....dont worry about it. people can take body shots off you.....hey! they do to me!

Thanks for all the responses. I'll just chill for now, maybe work out a bit and see what happens.
