I would appreciate input on strains that will fill my needs- I live in the mountains of east TN- so frost comes early- I like sativa high but takes too long to mature-also need a plant that does not grow too high- need to have plants that will not grow yards above the other vegetation- I like the old skunks- but have had good results with northern light in the past

You could try stonehedge for that high.
I haven't yet grown it (have seeds) but it looks promising.
Here's the blurb:
Sagarmatha Cannabis Seeds - Stonehedge
Ref: SEEDSM - StoneHedge
Stonehedge is a marijuana of megalithic proportions. This plant has vigorous growth and excellent crystalline structure. By far the largest and most dense Sativa available from Sagarmatha, the plant was also a Cannabis Cup award winner in the late 90's.
Her lineage consists of an old-style Cambodian type plant with a slight Western Winds influence, which enhances the Sativa strength and pleasure.
The high she possesses is soaring and overwhelming, providing the smoker with a lithographic outlook. Stimulating cranial sensations are often followed by an upswing in altitude and attitude. Whether taken in the evening or after work, her magic is well received.
Not recommended for operating heavy equipment "unless it's you."
Type:
Indica - Sativa, indoor and outdoor
Vegetate Until:
4 - 7 internodes
Flowering Time:
65 days
Average Height:
1 metre
Yield:
350 grams / m² (dried, indoor)
High:
Creeper quality: first eyedroop, followed by full relaxation. Long-lasting high.
Taste:
Slightly hashy and sweet
One thing I've noticed from pics is that she carries the trait for scarlet pistils.. stunning!

maybe try some indoor ones and see how they do. these rules arent set in stone. just make sure u put a clear canopy over it so it never rains on them. indoor plants will mold up quickly outside if u get rain on it. my plants this year that are going to be outside are Northern Skunk, Blueberry, Blue widow and AK47...im so excited.
