Anybody else out there stressed out by school? I'm in University right now and I'm trying to handle all the readings, essays, and exams (And there are a shit load of them!)

After elementary school, middle school, high school (which was very long in Canada with Grade 13), and a few years of Univeristy, you just get so burnt out :( :( :(

So are other people dealing with the same stuff? Do people who have graduated have any advice?

Im in high school as well, but im not really stressed about it, luckily for me, learning comes easy and I dont really try in school but I still get good grades. I guess I need more of a challenge.

As for the stress, heres what you do

-get organzied, carry a planner/agenda to write out your entire schedule
-have a binder for every class, it gets a little pricey, but its better to know where math homework is than try to find math homework in a 4 subject notebook
-do your homework as soon as possible, im on cann a lot, but always after my homework is done
-when online researching/doing homework, DO NOT get on myspace or cannabis, it will still be there when your hw is done
-do not smoke when doing homework, it can make you distracted and take much longer
-try not to get distracted doing homework, really,
-have your fun, if you have loads of homework to do, take a break every few hours and go for a walk, play a little game, for about 30 minutes to relax your mind from thinking
-if you must study, plan it out, do not cram
-after a long day, take a nice bath or walk, something that makes you relaxed.

good luck:thumbsup:

well iam currently a senior and iam getting senioritis...

this unique desease tends to make seniors get tired of schools. Honor roll students are affected too. A seems to stay at c's instead.

iam so sick of high school the only things that keep me in there are the girls, and the parties. oh and the fights. Ill be going to college next year which kinda scares me because iam beginning to get a lil' sick of schools. but hopefully the good weed, and the hot mature girls keep my mind straight. hope that helps cuz i feel just as lost.

I have the hardest time keeping up with all the readings, papers, and exams. Its all about priorties. If I'm not going to be tested/have to write a paper on a reading for class aand I have something else that I will be tested/ have to write a paper on in class b, than I'm going to be doing the reading for class b.

Learning always has come easily for me, too, but I got stressed in school anyway. Now I'm in medical school, and if you think it's stressful in university, try med school. It's rough at times. I think it's trying to do everything right that gets me.

For me, it helps to exercise, get plenty of rest, and take breaks from studying. I find it sticks in my head better, too, if I study for a while, then do something else, then study some more, then break. It's like the back of my mind helps sort and file and save things while, say, the front of my mind is cooking dinner or vacuuming. This week I'm on spring break, which is lovely.

college is tough man, im in my second year and I am now realizing how hard the next 2 or 3 years are going to be. Its stressful but its worth it in the end, keep the big picture in mind, and always remember, hardwork will lead to results in the future.

Wow, i sound like a mom! No but i was feeling the same way last semester so I know where your at man, just keep studying.

In junior high and HS I had 0 stress. Probably because I didn't even want to be there. :p

But college was a different story. I wanted to go to further myself, and yes, it was stressful. I only had 4 hrs of classes a day, but I remeber grinding hard to get shit done. I still have dreams about whether or not I'll pass my Math course. It's weird.

How I got through it is, I figured the work will pay off in the end. I could quit school, again, lose all that money I paid for classes, and go back to a shitty job, or I can tough it out, be grateful I'm even in school, and get a better job when I'm done. That got me through my days.

people in high school have no idea what college is like. i thought i did last year, and now i realize what bullshit it is for a high school kid to say that. high school is CAKE. you dont have to do ANYTHING on your own

college is hard as fuck, but it's rewarding too, and i must say, it's almost time for finals here at my university and i'm kinda stressed, but college is a blast for sure. for instance.... this morning i had to get up at 6 for my first class. so last night i put down some tall boys and some bowls for my roomies bday and got royally fucked, got about 3 hours of sleep and got up and went to school for 9 hours and JUST finished. it's the shit :)

so long as you can set a good pace yourself, your fine. that's the key for me at least. if i can make myself do things that need to get done in a reasonably timely manner, it's not that bad to deal with. just imagine how much better it is than high school :)

I agree. High school is a jack off session.

When I went to get my HS in college, the courses were only 2 months long each, and in HS to do a course, it takes like 4-5 months.

my advice. drop some units, get a job. no homework from a job, but you won't be wasting time that you would have been in class, that's what I do.

ahhh senioritis... It has completely consumed me... It helps that I applied ED and got in though... although my school is currently trying to set an example with my grade it seems and are cracking down very hard on relatively minor infractions... nevertheless it eases my mind to know where ill be next year already (im already a kinda nervous person, although ive been working on that)
