try it; but it would be very prudent of you to find yourself a neem oil product, i have one called fruit tree spray by green light. it's supposed to kill eggs too, pyrethrin bombs are good;
i'm battling the little fuckers myself right now. the key is vigilance;
oh yeah, and they hate cold water, but it doesn't kill them
also, safer's insecticidal soap...

Posting them is fine to. I can get them this way as long as I have you permission is all. A great thread about spider mites start to finish would make a good faq in the end too.
If you want to make one that may help a lot of people. But to keep the FAQ clean just try not to quote people or answer questions in a post with a pic, just make a second post to answer questions. That way I can use your thread and give you the proper credit for the FAQ.
That is if you want to mess with it; it is a bit of work.
Thanks for the offer I look forward to your pictures. I love looking at bug pictures.

thank you for every ones help.
Is there a way to pervent mites?
Does the temp in the room make a diffence?
Does the humidity make a diffence?
I had dirt plants in my room first, did that case mites
becouse the soil was not sterile?
I also see a lot of little flyes, does that have something to do with mites?
Now that i have mites, do i have to remove all the plants and sterilelize the room?
Were do i go from here?
thank you

I've never had the problem so trust someone else's experience with treating the actual plants but here's a quick take on the room...
If it's a pest that can't fly you can probably get away with just sterilizing the area around the plants and it should keep them at bay hopefully till the end of the grow just make a solution of ammonia or anything that evaporates clean spray it around the room (leave on some fans) and yer room will be all set once it's dry...oh don't use too much haha ya don't wanna pass out or anything just enough to notice the smell is fine
if it's easy enough to move the setup for a bit do the same thing just a bit more thorough cause ya won't have to worry bout the plants
GL I hope you get every last one of em...and welcome to the cann :thumbsup:

no prob zandor, glad to help :) it will take some time to complete, but i'll deff be working on it. i wanted to have some tomatoes going at the same time, that way to have an article with no pot pix too, but they haven't sprouted yet...

late, i noticed webs two weeks ago, and immediately went out for some neem. what i found was a fruit tree spray, 70% neem, with two other chems, designed to kill eggs too. this product is supposed to be a fungicide and miticide.
i've sprayed twice, going to go in for a third tonite. i have an old bathroom that is very infested; it's in the basement. i'm gettin a few clones ready of a few different strains, to show start to finish mite damage. i'm going to allow the mites to win this one :D i think it is the only way to show the day by day signs. hopefully, by showing this, it will help others more readily and easily identify the problem.
sorry, no pix today, or thread, i'm waiting for these clones to be ready...

Yes starting off with a clean room most of the time will keep you from getting spider mites. There are a few ways to get rid of them but once you see webs and such the only real way is to bomb the place.
Pyrethrum Fogger is the very best bomb you can get. No hard to the plants or the yield.
But what you need to understand is the cycle of life that the mites go through. What ever you do if you have an infestation then you need to bomb 3 times with a schedule of every 5-7 day's you set one off then check. Killing the adults is one thing but you need to kill off the eggs because with in hours after they hatch they can start to lay their own eggs too so you need to break the cycle to get rid of them.
The other bugs you are talking about I would bet are fungal gnats. The bomb will take care of them at well but if you are growing in dirt then you do not have enough drainage and if you are growing hydro and have fungal gnats then you had them before.

You got gots allowing that to fester, be careful...
like Z said. The thing to remember is you have a repeating battle every time the eggs hatch...ridding yourself of these pests require patience and perseverence <?sp>.
Yes the soil is probably the cause. I never had a pest hardly until I did an indoor soil grow in my hydro room. A layer of sterile "playbox" sand on top of your soil is a good idea. the texture of the sand cuts the larvae and they die of "fleshwounds" lol

there really should be a type of treatment that sterilizes the eggs so you don't have to bomb multiple times...I know there are methods for tons of other bugs so I'd assume it could be done with these as well...might be something to look into in case they ever come back
How are they lookin tw45?
