View Full Version : Thinking about quitting

Ok well I need some peoples position on the matter.... So... I have had a rough first semester of college... I have a 1.7 something GPA, and this semester is the first semester I have started smoking heavily (ie 3-4 times a day) however, my grades were messed up before I started smoking and I am very confident that I can have good grades and smoke at the same time... Now... me and I friend smoke together and we usually buy about a half a week and split the price of it... however the last four or five times I have bought it and I have told him that he has to pay me back.... however... now that he owes me about 4 times of buying.... ($160 worth of pot or $80 if he just wants to give me straight cash) So he has decided to quit smoking... so today I was thinking about quitting smoking considering the semester is almost over and I can start a semester off fresh.... now this is where I need peoples perspective on the matter.... IF it were you, would you stop smoking? Or would you just buy it for yourself and smoke while your friend sits there with you and doesn't smoke? I just wanted to know peoples perspective and just so you all know, I am like 100% confident I can pass all of my classes next semester while smoking as often as I do now... thanks and sorry if it is so long, but this is the first time I haven't smoke in like 3 months and im alittle drunk to make up for it... thanks

I dunno, dude. I have a 3.4 in my first semester. I smoke 3-5 times a day, and I try not to buy with other people. I suggest cut back on the frequency, plan it around your classwork, and buy for yourself. Don't even smoke it around your friend.
I don't want to sound like a douche, but I wouldn't have your friend over so much, and hit the books. It sucks to have to do that, but it pays off when final grades roll around.
Good luck bro. I'll vape a bowl for you..

I agree with mello. If your confident you can get good grades then theres no reason to quit entierly. Maybe just cut back a bit, that way you will spend less money.

Everyone fucks up a semmester or two at school. I've found herb helps me in school, I guess it could be that ADD thing or something, cuz it allows me to focus, and think clearer...
Anyways, the trick to doing well and burning a lot is discipline. Go get high, but then do you homework. You know?
Its hard as fuck, lemme tell you what! but its the only way...

Yeah bro, like I've said before and so did Mello, just cut back, I'm in my 3rd semest in college, and I had to cut back a lot like I still puff everyday but I only do it at night when I have done all my work, studied, and have done my homework. I managed to pull off a 3.9, but I did study my ass off. Point is: You can smoke everyday, in fact I puffed for hours when I got home like from 6 or 7 p.m. to about 10:00 p.m. of straight puffin' and thats Kind Bud, which is way stronger. So you can get good grades just don't smoke before you study or go to class, it makes it impossible to concentrate. Be smart bro, it's hard the first few days but you'll get in a habit. Also study at the library so your not tempted to puff at home.
Peace, and Good Luck...Man Don't quit smokin'

If you feel like you should take a break, then by all means do so. I take a break every now and then and it does wonders for getting me even higher when I start back up.
There's no reason to encourage him to keep smoking if he is having doubts about it interfering with his education. It probably is one factors that has led to your low GPA this semester. You are paying for school now, so perhaps you may want to cut back on something that's holding you back.
Not everybody is the same when it comes to weed and school.
ya no need to quit. i was just like that in a way except i am in highschool. i fuked up back in 10th grade well come 11th grade im making straight As just about and smoke just about everyday. heres what i started off doing. i finally came to my senses and realized u have to get a good education in todays world in order to survive and live a reasonable happy life. so i decided i would start trying to make good grades and put the weed aside until i was done with all of my studies for the day, then smoke up. u see if u smoke after u have done ur studies theres nothing u really have to worry about for school because it will have been done u can just chill and relax. i dont know though, maybe try it...my friend also started out with this routine a couple months after i did and saw how much i improved in school and was still tokin everyday like he was except he was making horrible grades and i wasnt anymore. well after he started this routine next report card rolled around and he had good grades, and was happy who wouldnt be...well i do know that college is a hell of a lot harder then highschool but just trying to give u some good advice that worked for me. anyway goodluck with school. peace

I am about to graduate, just have 1 final left, and I have kept a 3.9 GPA and smoke weed 1x per day. I never go to class high though.

Nice job! ... that's where I fucked up. I went to school high everyday in highschool and barely graduated. Stick with it and you'll do great. ;)
As a matter of fact, I was graduating the same year you were born, man I'm feeling old right now.

You just need to smoke around the work. If you find that balance between smoking and working it takes alot of stress off. But always save a half a bowl to get to sleep easier and you will get a much better sleep.
