As authorities stormed into a middle school office to arrest an alleged meth-dealing principal inside, they found an even more surprising scene inside.

Sources said 50-year-old John Acerra, of Allentown, was naked and watching gay pornography when they arrived at Nitschmann Middle School in Bethlehem to arrest him on Tuesday.

Acerra also had sex toys, drugs, cash and a pipe in his school office when authorities stormed his office, the sources added.

The reverend Ted Haggard, I was reading this past weekend, has had a miraculous transformation to heterosexuality after only three weeks of participation in one of those Christian counseling programs designed to turn gays straight. I was not convinced of his transformation, personally, but I think those programs--just as is the case with evangelical ministers--are full of malarkey.

Of course this "reparative therapy" stuff is full of malarkey. You can't turn gay people straight, but if you want to maintain that homosexuality is a sin, you have to ignore that inconvenient fact. Personally, I think these "ex-gay" people are fooling themselves. Maybe they've told themselves they're straight enough times that they've started to believe it, but in that case they're just bottling up a lot of sexual desire by flatly denying that it exists, and that can't be healthy.
