Like a firewall on my computer or one that is on my connection from my isp?

a firewall on your router? I had an issue with that. I forget how I did it but it didn't involve turning the fire wall off. does it give you a reason or does it just say dnas error? Try taking all the cord connections off and putting them back, the if you have a router, connect to that with your computer and check the settings. make sure it is open to more than one connection.

ok when I had a ps2 which was around a year ago or more I had the same problem. It needed ports opened from within the "modem/router" look up your "modem/router" on portforward.com or portforwarding.com some shit like that. It should have a in depth walk through of how to open ports on your router/modem. oh yea each game should say what ports need to be open and the ps2 manual will probably tell what basic ports need to be open in order for it to work. Oh yea by indepth I mean with screenshots. Peace yo hope this shit helps you.

dsl modems/routers have a built in firewall

depends on the individual game, search for socom 2 or whatever game you wanna play and see what ports need to be opened

wow opening ports seems complicated i dont wanna mess my comp up either....like static ip adresses n stuff i didnt understand all that shit....would the ports for socom 2 b the same as socom 3?

only thing I could find online says that the ports are specific to each game. So I looked up socom2 for you and it says to open up ports 6000-6999 tcp and udp also make sure you have your ps2's ip address in the server ip address slot.(if it asks for one) but thats for to talk with the headset I also found the instruction book lol here's the link and read page 27 and 28 it tells you exactly what to do I bet you have to enter your dns ipaddy static ip of the ps2 and your routers netmask. so go to this link and look on page 27 and 28 if you need help finding your ipaddy and stuff go to start/run/cmd then type in "ipconfig"

sorry I can't be of much more help man heres that link

It has rank and you could earn medals. It's about the same but 1st person. and it's always respawn, how it should be. lol
