Language barriers affect how others conduct business, you have to be communicate with people in that country. What do you think would happen if everyone spoke their own language, we would spend much wasted time decoding what's been said, rather than react to it.

I'm not saying anyone has to strip themselves of their identity or culture. I'm not saying to have everyone speak only English. But the fact is English is the national language here in America. You can't expect yourself to live in another country without learning to communicate with the people and learning some of their customs.

It's a sense of respect a person should have when you inhabit yourself in a place foreign to you.

Let it be clear, my views of immigration. I support an open, regulated border. However, I don't believe anyone can just walk in a country and drain resources. This has to be earned, and should be given an opportunity to earn citizenship.

As for language, I lived in 3 other countries. With living there, I had to learn to speak enough German to be able to communicate, conduct business, and get around. It's precisely that simple, my views on language. If you live there, you have to learn to communicate with the majority. Nothing racist about my views.

And I agree with you, America as a country is not as accepting towards accomodating foreigners as places I been to. But America is a big country, and that's the reason why it's slower to progress in these issues.

Nope...many don't want to have citizenship. I worked with a few when I was pipefitting sprinkler systems at bigboxmart...and they make 1-2000 a week, work for 6 weeks at a time, then take a week go home to mexico, leave the money, and come back to work again. I have nothiing personal against the guys I worked with. Hell they worked their asses off. But, they are not spending a lot here. they eat cheap in mexican restaurants, and stay in their "comped" rooms at night.

Not to mention that we, as citizens are held to a much stricter standard when it comes to law enforcement. When illegals are arested for crimes, many times they are held for a day or two then released. They play the "speeka-no-english card" then the cops just let'em go. Most don't have proper ID, and they never have to "pay back society" like you and I do. If you don't think that illegals commit many crimes here (dangerous ones I mean), then just look in your local newspaper for the arrests. I'd say it's 50/50 where I live between illegals and locals, and I live in a medium sized mid-western town.

I say we should round them up like cattle and herd them accross the border then set up free fire zones, about a mile inside the border and put the national guard on alert, right after we bring them home from Iraq. Have a points system, or pay for ears, like in the Indian slayer days, say 50 bucks an ear, hell I'd volunteer for that job, I could make a few hundred thousand in a couple of weeks.
