I had to have the original thread deleted because I needed the first post in the thread deleted. So, I will have to begin again :(

OK. This project began with 20 seeds. Ten Northern Lights and Ten Early Misty seeds. Germination began about five weeks ago on a Sunday and five days later this is what appeared.
This grow is being executed in a hydro hut mini using a 400w MH conversion bulb and 400 HPS bulb waiting to be used for the flowering stage. The growing medium is a soilless mix. The size of the space is roughly 4x4x6. An exhaust fan rated 265 cfm, and BC Bloom is the food that is being used. The lighting program is currently 18/6

By the way, thanks to the users who posted on the previous thread, your advice was appreciated.
Next up is an image of the grow about one week into it. The pots on the perimeter contain the Northern Lights seedlings and the tray has Early Misty seedlings.

Just a touch of worry surrounded our thinking on the state of things depicted in this photo. In my original thread I mention the droopy droopiness that was happening. Some helpful users indicated that this could mean a watering issue, or possibly that the plants were ready to move to bigger pots. A little bit of both seems to be the issue, and I would like to thank them again for their assistance.

The most recent photos, taken last night. This is the project as it stands just under five weeks from the seeds first being planted. The droopiness shows some improvement here, and transplanting will take place soon.

Hi Timmy
Looking good d00d! Dont know if my advice on your last thread helped but if it did no worries :rastasmoke:
Are you gonna top the plants? I recommend the FIM technique, made my plants hella bushy with 3-6 growth shoots
Im also using a soiless medium (1/3 coco, 1/3 vermiculite,1/3 perlite) works really well =D

Yes it did. Thanks. This is the first grow. I have read conflicting theories on topping so I am not sure if these plants are going to be topped. They might just be grown without it. Or maybe not.
As far as your advice is concerned, yes it did help, especially about the transplanting questions.
Stay tuned for more.

I would get those babies in some larger pots proto.I had 10 out of 12 plant with no watering issues at all. The other 2 plants were in small pots. With the drip system running 15 mins. every 2-3 hours on a 12/12 cycle, they were the 2 with problems. They would be left standing in a pool to suffocate. So to remedy that I put them in 2 gallon pots.1 gallon would have been enough, but they were soaked and that extra soil helped get them back on track. They were caught-up with the drip system the light on cycle.

OK. I hope that everyone is having a great Sunday. Today marks five weeks to the day that this grow began.
Today was a productive day. A couple males were weeded out and almost everyone was moved into a bigger container (2gallon). Little bit of Superthrive was applied and it all went very well.
The plants were topped using FIM. Anxiously awaiting determination of the sex of the rest of them, other than that, everything looks great.

Are there 7 confirmed females I'm seeing in there? are you topping or LSTing to bush out the plants? I recommend busing them out a little to increase your yeild. I pulled mine into a question mark shape and have multiple big fat colas because of it since the side shoot grew up from the too arc of the plant. Aim to have 4-5 main colas. What size are your pots? 3gl work great for me.

Four are confirmed females. I am sure that we will know very soon what the other three are. We used FIM already. I am not too sure what will happen beyond that.
When you say pulled into a question mark shape, do you mean tying near the top of the main growth shoot and anchoring the string to the edge of the container? As the title states this is our first grow so We don't want to try and get too tricky. We just want a soild yield with good quality. If this LST is a nearly foolproof procedure that will greatly increase the yield I would consider it.
They are in 2 gallon containers I believe. Anyway....thanks for your input and stay tuned for more.

I'm on my first grow too. I FIMmed as well but for some reason it didn't work for me. LST I tied the base to anchor the plant to the side of the pot. Just put screws in the side and use yarn, you can wrap it around the screw with out tieing for quick adjustments. Anyways then half way up up tie again but in the other direction. Then near the top you can tie again and pull the top back to the anchor side. Do your tieing right after you water. You can tie in as many places as you want to support your plant. and they are pretty flexible. If you feel a little nervous about it you can tie a little then go and tighten it each day a little. I need to try and get some old pics up here, wait...

Here. See how the little shoots get a chance to start growing up off tjhe horozontal branch, once they get so big you can let the top go again and untie them. I only LSTed about 2 weeks. Right at the begining of flower.

Thanks for the input ChronicC. We are trying out some LST and it looks like it is a good idea. Thanks for the tip. The grow has been under 12/12 since Sunday and six of the seven remaining plants are for sure female and the seventh one is quite possibly female as well, just aren't sure yet.
So, two are for sure Northern Lights and the other four are Early Misty and the unknown is also Early Misty.
LST is being done cautiously to not all of them as this is the first attempt so we don't want to eff it up. Anyway....here are some photos....

lol Since I found this board I've gained some mad skillz. Trial and error. Tip-Never use fishing line, it looks very pretty but slices like a knife with to much tension, then *swiff* your plant has been accidently topped, lol, lost 3 tops that way.

Hey, man. Looks good. Likin' the setup. So, how did you weed out your males prior to flowering at 5 weeks of veg? Were their preflowers THAT well defined? If so, that was some good luck! :) Normally, it takes 1.5 - 2.0 months of veg for plants to fully reveal their sex via preflowers.
Anyway, 7 females is a good number, but from what I read, you are still not sure of some of them, right? Well, we sure would like to know! :D
Regarding LST...I would consider it a pretty foolproof method of bushing out your plants. It is very easy (during veg) and FORCES the plant to grow the side shoots out instead of growing the top growth shoot out. It's a hormonal issue, kind of like PMS. :p ...well, not really.
Looking forward to more updates.

Yes. They were pretty easy to spot. I don't know how long it normally takes someone but that is how long it took. Six are for sure and the seventh one I am 99.8% sure of. More photos will probably be posted today.

Well everything is going pretty well. I was gonna post some new photos of the whole grow but for now I am going to post these pictures of a couple of leaves.
The condition that is depicted on these leaves has been showing on the newer leaves on three of the seven plants. You can't really tell by the photos but this deformation of the leaves is accompanied by some small metallic spots. Very concerned that this is indicative of an infestation of some sort, possibly thrips.
Please let me know what you think about this.

Prrobably not it but it looks like when I tried to FIM and the new growth grew in. I can't see any spots in you pics, you'll have to give a very throughough descripiton about everything so we can start narrowing it down.

Thankfully CC, it looks like this situation is similar to when you tried FIM. No more deformities or any signs of pests and everything is looking good.
These photos are a couple days old. Hope to have more soon.
