Beyond Prohibition: Changing Attitudes in Policy and Practice

The perception of Canadian drug policy as progressive obscures the reality
that Canada's War on Drugs constitutes a war on minorities, a war on the
poor, and a war on youth. It's time for Canadians to take responsibility for
the drug policy that we passively condone through our collective apathy. On
March 16 * 18, 2007 student activists and drug policy experts from across
North America will convene at Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy's
first annual conference, Beyond Prohibition: Changing Attitudes in Policy
and Practice, at McGill University in Montreal Quebec. Here we will explore
alternatives to the prohibitionist stance that abuses our population, our
communities, and our planet.
