Well, about 2 hours ago my aunt died at 48 due to heroin induced kidney failure. The reality of it hasn't quite set in yet.. but I do realize that 48 is way to young to die. She was addicted to heroin between the ages of 19 and 37, the age she got dialysis. I didn't post this for sympathy, because I didn't really know her too well or anything, I just posted it to help people realize how real the downsides of this drug are. And yes, she told us all "I went into heroin thinking I was only going to do it once. I had no problem regulating myself with any other drug, but heroin to me became so much more then a drug. It became my reason for living. And even though I'm constantly fighting a battle and going to the hospital, I've been so much happier while clean then when I was doing anything to shoot up."

18 years riding the horse is a big hurdle to overcome. At least she stopped at 37 and made it another 11 years. Heroin is a death sentence, that's why I stay natural: weed, shrooms, opium, and possible mescaline if I can ever find peyote. Anything that requires more preparattion before consumption than drying is no good.

Heroin is a bad drug. Period. Some people just don't care, they figure, "Well, I could already fuck up my life doing weed, so there's no point in not trying heroin". Which is very sad. I lost my half brother due to suicide (caused by heroin), he just couldn't live with being a heroin addict. He tried overdosing on pills, until my other half brother started pushing on his stomach, causing him to throw up. Then he was checked into a clinic, but signed himself out I think. So he eventually hung himself. He NEVER spent anyone elses money either, to support his habit. One of their friends left a wallet at their house, and all the money was still there when they found it. (He live in the Maryland, DC area, while I lived in Central Florida, in a "good" neighborhood") I dunno, I was only in the fifth or sixth grade at the time. I had no idea how to take it, (drugs were unheard of in the area), whether I should think he deserved it, or what. Later on when i got to middle/highschool, I knew alot of people that smoked. I was afraid to do drugs. So I started off with taking prescription drugs, since I got them for free from a friend, and since they were safe (they were technically legal). Loved the three percocets I took one night (never had pain killers or any prescription drugs of that nature), and had oxycontin (knocked me out and made me throw up alot, didn't realize it was so similar to heroin). I was afraid to try weed for awhile, since my brother was dead because of drugs, and I just didn't want to end up an addict. Well, I learned that weed was beneficial to me, and certain drugs ARE safe, if you know what you're doing. So here I am now, still smoking once a week.

Thats a shame, sorry to hear that. Heroin is one of those drugs you really should avoid. I have friends that will generaly do anything but wont ever touch heroin.

dude...opium is natrual to an extent, but if you count it, then so is heroin. both derived from poppy...stick to weed, shrooms, and sex

Heroin is much more processed than opium, but I try to stay away from all that. I guess we could call cocaine natural too, if opium is natural. Just know where you stand, and don't get caught up in too many drugs. Do drugs for a reason, not just to feel good.

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like Watchin the puddels gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view but its not sane

Heroin is the fucking Devil. Think about all of the wonderful talents that have perished so early because of such things. The only thing i have to say to anyone who sees this is to never even think about shooting heroin. We need to clean this world up and to do that the people must have the same train of thought. stay away from that shit everyone

Opium is nothing more than dried opium poppy "sap". Heroin is a derivative of opium, highly processed, hence my avoidance. That and heroin is something like a 1000 times more addictive than opium.

I don't think the problem is heroin, but IVing it. You might as well stab yourself at that point.
