But could only find vague references which did not give me a clear answer. A friend of mine (really..this is not me) growing in a bubbler started her plants on 12/12 lighting by accident. They are now approx 5 weeks old and about 1 foot tall and no preflowers showing What is she supposed to do with the lighting at this point? Where do you go if you start from 12/12 (from seed)? Should she just change to blooming nutes and leave the lighting as it is? She wants to start flowering and I have no clue what to tell her besides.....oops.

Thanks guys!

yeah, 5 weeks and a foot tall is good enough to start flowering. Especially if you've already cut back the light cycle. putting it back to 18/6 might make it a hermie. bloom nutes might be a good call, yeah.

technically she has forced flowering already, but it has not matured to the point that it will bloom. my friend grew 12/12 from seed, they came out okay. maybe she can turn it up to 13/11 just to get it to mature quicker, and when it starts to preflower switch to 12/12 again

impo, if she gives the plants flower nutes (super phosphates esp.) it should help to trigger the plants' response to the lighting condition, and start flowering. the label on green light's super bloom states, "makes plants want to BLOOM" and it does. switch the nutes, not the light cycle.
