I think this is the ultimate game to play when hi. Best video game soundtrack as well. I know some of you have to be out there.

Playing multi player sucks with 7 strangers, b/c everyone takes 3 minutes for there first 100 turns, when you only have to do like one thing. You cant play a quick game.

I conned my neighbor into buying it, he sucks and REFUSES to play me. I got my best friend the game for Christmas, but he just had a baby, and is not ALLOWED to play (fucking duck).

You fuckers cant hang with me at no Civ IV, bizatches......

erm... explain it and what you do in it (with refrences to other games so i can understand) i might think about gettin git.... i can't remember atm, but i remember seeing something about it and thought it'd be pretty cool to get... but that was over ayear ago i think...

Well, first of all, game idea is same from 1-4 if you've played any of them.

I dont want to bore you with super long explanation. wait I know......turn-based strategy game that challenges players to build and expand an empire, throughout all of human history, and become the most powerful ruler in the world. Choose one of 18 nations to lead and go head to head with some of the most famous leaders in history. Each civilization has its own special characteristics - some are fairly peaceful, while others are expansionists and conquerors. However, Civilization IV is more than just a great combat game: you can also achieve victory through diplomatic cunning, cultural or religious alliances, and technological dominance.

start as cave man, cant see the globe, research shit and spread religions, get satelites, then start nuking fuckers.

fairly complicated strategy/turn based combat. Lots of trading and alliance shit. you can make a game so that it will last for 2 - 40 hours. Played for 3 last night.

Ya, I play it. What I like about it is that it is so easily modded, it can be a whole different game. On CivFanatics there are so many mods that add units, scenarios, even Final Fantasy mods. My favourite is Total Realism Gold. If you haven't checked out CivFanatics I suggest you do.

I don't like that you need a really top of the line computer to play at the highest settings. I like to play huge maps w/ a lot of civs but later in the game the turns slow down to a crawl.

And ya, totally addicting game. You can easily lose track of time and play for hours without realizing it.

Whats funny is, this game is so addicting to me, (my friend said the exact same thing) that this is the ONLY thing where, I can have a huge bowl of the goody good packed, and look down 2 hours later, to realize you havent even hit that shit!!!! It will seriously make you stare for 4 hours and youll forget to smoke!!?!?!?

Im playing tonight about 9:00 Eastern. Dont know how to hook up with you guys, but I want to.

Last time I played, I played a tiny map (for 3 players) but used 4 civs instead. It was about 4 hours, and gameplay was good. Not too much expanding, but good diplomatic strategy going on. With 3 players, the other 2 become butt buddys and just kill you. (AI that is)

I have it and when I find the CD Ill install too. When I get boarded with one I switch to something different. Been playing C&C lately.

Out of the series I like Red Alert 2 and Generals/Zero Hour. I got that same DVD as I couldn't find all my old CDs to install.
