Limp Bizkit by far is one of the worst.
Coldplay-the guy can't sing on key, and the music is very boring. I don't know why people like them as he is a very bad singer.
Wolfmother-unoriginal and making money off Sabbath's riffs.
U2-Again, boring music where the lyrics seem to have no meaning. There is only one song i like by them, and that's Sunday Bloody Sunday.

all new romance stuff is sonic death, as is all pop music, ska, reggae and techno. i also despise eighties gothic crap, rap, classical and jazz. give me heavy metal, give me punk give me grunge, give me the blues give me even more metal or piss right off.

and Kurt Cobain, i absolutley love most of nirvanas songs, this is more on a personal level. mainly because of the culture of those "kurt Cobain is god people" we all know the kind of people who would take personal offence if anyone talks sass about Nirvana. those people PISSS ME OFF.

I hate nirvana, AFI, Used, Fall out girl (and all the bands there connected to),and man the foo fighters? I just cant stand rock lyrics anymore. . . I swear there use to be more to it than this. I wish Dave would kill himself off, so we can hear "times like these" 20 times a day instead of the regular 15. I don't know maybe I would like music more if I didn't hear the same song 3 times within 30 minutes. . .

Yes, Fall Out Boy vocalist is very high pitched and annoying, but My Chemical Romance tops all whiney emo crap. Actually, I hate all emo. Simple Plan included.
It's the voices that bother me. They are so nasal sounding and the lyrics are such boo-fuckin-hoo, nobody loves me kind of crap. It's like boys have evolved into girls over the last 10 years.
u2 and nirvana are the most overrated, both considered alltime great bands, both mediocre and had far better contemporaries than themselves

you're stupid.
no im not, they were a bollocks sixties pop band that everyone loves, if only because to say anything against them is to defy the populist way of thinking and to stand appart from the herd. they produced totally inane songs [ticket to ride, she loves you yeah, yeah, yeah, strawberry fields, bollocks] and their psychedelia is total crap, when in comparison cream and hendrix are amazing and the rolling stones simply outclass them in every way. they are boring, vacuous and just plain crap. i was forced to listen to that shitty yellow submarine dirge the other day whilst i was in a shop and it confirmed everything i believe about the beatles, that they are the worst popular band in the history of popular music.

I agree with Sleepless. He took the words right out of my mouth.
They were pop music and hardley rock n roll. It was teeny popper music in my eyes, but the worst? No. Emo is worse than that music, and I would take the Beatles being played on the radio that that crap they play now.

 As it is populist to hate them as well. You simply joined another herd.
I'm not really fond of the beatles, but you would be a fool to call them the worst. The songwriting of at least 2 of them, Lennon, and Harrison is beautifully constructed. McCartney, not so much, his shit was too melodramatic. Evidence is every song you listed was written by him. Even his stuff isn't the "worst."
The Beatles were a pop band that wrote pop music. Other than the Beach Boys, there isn't a single pop band, from the 60s to today that can walk on the same ground the Beatles could.

I like people screaming, but not little whiny bitches screaming about their girlfriend breaking up with them, I don't want to hear that bull!
I want to hear Dimmu Borgir talking about Dark Armies marching through the world and killing everyone, or Cradle of Filth screaming about the return of the devil.
-Beatles are not shitty, but alot of people say they listen to them and adore them and have no idea what their lyrics mean...
-Any new "punk" bands can go straight to hell.... Including Green Day of course, Nimrod wasn't bad though.
-Coldplay is probably the gayest band of all time.
-U2 can suck my bawlz
-Nirvana is good but I don't listen to them much(Kurt is not god, he's only a man who gave no fucks)
-Fall Out Boy will die out in no time I'm sure because they are nothing
-My Chemical Romance can die in a fire for all I care, they have no skill
-Wolfmother, everyone I know thinks they're amazing but I don't see it at all, they suck. If your at my house and put their music on I'm kicking you out.

I CANT STAND Fall Out Boy. I dont see how anyone can like them. Also, i wish radio stations would add a little variety to their playlists. Its basically the same shit every day. They should add songs from local...or underground bands, you know..help them get some recognition. But until that happens i guess im stuck with metallica and bands like that

i dont have anything to say for or against emo as i dont recall having ever listened to any, which is for the best if its just whining, pathetic sympathy seeking crud. i will give it a go just to find out for myself though. if my opinions do make me part of a sepparate herd for hating the beatles then it must be a very small herd indeed, i have never heard anyone [other than the clash] speak ill of them. john lennon was nothing but a self publicist and he is, in my oppinion, the worst element of the beatles [bar ringos drumming] his solo career is less poppy, yet is somehow just as bad because of it. at least george harrison genuinley believed in what he was diong and had a real faith and humanity, the others [especially lennon] were just sellout cash whores.

well first lemme say, if you are considering flaming me, or even trying to debate my opinion on this, IT'S MY OPINION and second of all, you won't change my mind...resorting to saying 'my bands' suck wont' change it, telling me what a musical genuis said 'bad band' is, won't change my mind.. you can't change my mind because it is my opinion, and i will ignore any 'negative' posts after this, whether it be insulting bands i've said i liked, or calling me ignorant or the such for naming the bands i think blow (sorry, i get in this argument all over the boards without even trying... i tell someone something, that's rock solid hard truth and they try to get me back by saying [lol robert it's not about you, this argument has been used on me so much] "well how much can someone who thinks slipknot is a good band really know?!)
with all that said...

the used
most metal band suck as well, few exceptions (i think alot of people here have some image in their head that i'm some hardcore metal nut lol... far from it.. alot of it is just ok, the rest sucks ass.... there are few exceptions to this, slipknot is one of my fav bands, dunno really why... COF is really good as well... but most fuckin blow... i can bang an instrument and sing while i got a cold and do just as well)

Neil Young definitely is THE man. Even though he is one of the most untalented singers, he is and amazing songwriter and deserves more credibility than he gets.
However this is the worst bands thread, so I would have to say, and I can't believe they haven't been mentioned yet, fucking Nickleback. They are in my opinion, by far the worst band of all time. One of the members has actually been quoted saying "If we could make money playing metal, then we would." That shows right there that it has nothing to do with the music. The drummer only knows ONE beat and all their songs have the exact same format. If you put them next to that Fallout shit or whatever, it makes those gayboys look like they actually have talent.

yea dude your right, i would say the worst band EVER would have to be nickelback. All of their songs are monotonous, they all suck, nobody is talented in that band, their songs are not catchy, and i cant stand their singer.

THANK YOU. I was about to say Nickelback.
When I was in the dorms my second year of college, we had a radio in the shower room, and no matter if I took a shower at 6am or 3am, I would ALWAYS hear that stupid song "Photograph."
The 'harmony,' if you can call it that, of the lead singer and who/what ever is providing the said 'harmony,' is SO ANNOYING.
Not a big fan of thrash metal moshy kind of stuff, nor mainstream rap/hip hop, but I think Fergie is one of the worst 'performers' ever.
Bandwise? I'mma have to say MCR.

lol i like nickelback....
but i understand why alot of people don't... but i've liked 'em for a long time now... the cd with leader of men on it, was their best... then they started to go more poppish and what not, and got softer.... i only like a few select songs off cds by them now...

I hate anything that people just jump on the band wagon for. Greenday would be a prime example of this. They had some good stuff way back when no1 knew them, then they release this new POS album that gets a lot of publicity, then everyone started being a greenday "fan". That's when I started to hate them and most music thats popular these days. so I switched to classic rock.
personally, i do like the Beatles. now I'm not just one of those fans that knows all the popular songs by them, I have all their songs in my music collection and like to listen to pretty much all of em. they have an amazing variety of sounds and influenced a lot of the ways music was made after them.
other crap bands off the top of my head: nickelback, FOB, simple plan, Panic! (used to like them), the new Blink 182 stuff (old school ftw)

I don't get how anyone can dismiss an entire genre of music. To me, that just suggests that the person is aesthetically limited and possibly closed minded and shallow as well. It's not what people listen to that makes me dismissive, it's what they shut out.
The only genre I've been unable to find anything to like in is death metal and the related cookie monster gargling draino stuff.
But if you honestly dismiss all of jazz, rap, or country - the three most commonly "dismissed" genres - you haven't listened to enough, or you're just...shallow.
I'm sorry. I've tried to make allowances for this kind of thing, but there's just too much range of quality in any genre to dismiss it entirely. If you have never liked a piece of jazz, you're missing part of your soul. Most people have a genre preference, and that's normal, but to shut out whole genres of music is just...ignorant.
Sorry, I don't want to insult anyone, but the tendency of people to do this just disturbs me. I have to wonder if people hear music the way I hear it. I have to wonder why a lot of people even bother to listen to music.
The best of any genre is worth hearing. Even in the whole death metal area, I at least am open to the possibility that I haven't heard enough of it yet to dismiss all of it.
Mostly I gravitate to rock music. But I have been stunned - floored, by certain jazz albums (mostly in the post-bop period in the 50s and 60s), dragged out into the desert and rolled around a desert plain in a tumbleweed by a few country songs (Steve Earle? Johnny Cash?), and bobbed my head to good hip hop (If Eric B and Rakim's "Follow the Leader" doesn't do it for you, I don't even know what to say).
Open your ears, heart, and mind...wider. Question all of your aesthetic assumptions and predispositions...daily.

i have an extremely open mind when it comes to music. I will try to listen any song and find the good in it, however there is one genre that ive came to dismiss nearly 100%. That would have to be the genre of MTV/Fuse music. call it whatever you want, Emo, "Indie" (a word that has NO meaning anymore) Punk rock, pop-punk whatever. IT ALL SUCKS
Recently a few weeks ago a Friend of mine and a musician for 6+ years recomended this band for me. "Envy the Coast"(or something similar) i open up the myspace and see 4 or 5 of the band members wearing suits and giving off a typical pop-music vibe. I ask this kid, "this isnt just another wanabee indie band is it??" and he was like "naa man, these guys are gunna be the next big thing. there extremely tallented", seeing as how he himself was a musician i decided to give it a whirl. GUESS WhAT MAN??? 4 palm muted power chords, eventually followerd by whiny lyrics about his girlfriend. A louder chorus with harmonized lyrics. hmm how individual, simply peachy.
i used to like (when i was like 12) some of this underground "indie" music. the only ones i can remember off the top of my head were Audio Karate, and Saosin(before they got fameous). anyway, i quickly grew out of this genre when i realized everyone was doing this "Indie" music, and suddenly it wasnt independent anymore.
anyway my final point im trying to make. i dismiss all of this panic! at the disco my chemical romance greenday good charolitte fall out boy as tall as lions shit because it all sucks. even dookie.
i got much love for most types of music though dont get me wrong.

Like it or not, Green Day, Nirvana and The Beatles were all massively influential. If it wasn't for them, you wouldn't have all these REALLY crap manufactured pop/rock acts today.
don't forget, it started as a movement, and an extremely powerful one at that. Don't condemn the truly talented for unwillingly spawning these ridiculous trends. Credit is due where it's due.
As for myself, I can't stand most RnB. It gets worse and worse by the day. The music gets dumber and the lyrics follow suit. Hip hop is unfortunately following in suit. I remember when you were able to break down mainstream hiphop intellectually, when it stood for something. Now it's all riches, bitches, bling and just plain fucking MADE UP WORDS.
