so last night i looked in my pantry and found out that i had girl scout cookies... the samoas (sp?).. and the peanut butter ones... fucking amazing... but i was wonderin who else loves girl scout cookies? and what your favorites and shit?? i just wish there were more in a box... :jointsmile:

Girl Scout Mint Cookies

Description This was one of our first Recipes. We hope you enjoy this treat all year.

Ingredients

Recipe1 box Devil Food Cake Mix
2 Eggs
2 T. Water
2 T. Cooking Oil
1/2 C. Cocoa
1 pkg. Chocolate Chips - I like Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips
2-3 drops Wilton's Candy Mint Flavoring
Methods/steps
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine cake mix, eggs, water, cooking oil, and cocoa. You will need to blend this together well; this will be a very sticky mess. Let stand for 20 minutes, and then shape into very small 1/2 inch balls. Place these balls on a cookie sheet 2 inches a part, and smash down flat. You will need to spray a large spoon with Pam to make them flat. Bake for about 8 minutes. Let cool until they reach room temperature.

Heat chocolate chips in either the microwave, or in a double boiler. When completely melted add a couple drops of the mint flavoring. Be careful not to add too much, it is a powerful flavoring. You can either spread the melted chocolate on the cookies, or you can dip the cookies into the chocolate.

Or you can buy you a bag of Keebler's Grasshopper Cookies. This taste is close; you might want to experiment by adding a little more cocoa to the cookies. Oh yes, Duncan Hines is my pick on cake mixes, just like Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips, actually any of the Semi Sweet Chips will be fine :-)

Oh yeah. GS cookies are near and dear to my heart. I love the Savannahs (peanut butter), the Samoas are to die for, the Thin Mints, and the peanut butter ones where it's a dollop of peanut butter on a shortbread cookie, covered with chocolate. Ummmmmmmmmm.

the dosidos are my favorites, the peanut butter ones. thin mints are also badass, as well as the peanut butter/chocolater on the soft cookies...

I love girl scout cookies. I went to the mall on Sat. and they were selling them in there. They didnt have any of the Samoa's so I settled for the peanut butter ones. Someone infront of me got the last box of Samoa's. I wanted to snatch her bag and run. They should sell them over the internet so people can get them all year round.

I think those were "kookaburras," Gatekeeper, and I believe they either weren't hot sellers or were just being test-marketed in some areas and were never widely marketed. They got their name from a very popular Girl Scout song.

I myself go for the thin mints. My husband would eat those peanut butter sandwich cookies by the truckload with a carton of milk if given the opportunity. He seriously could use some rehab for that particular substance. I got him five boxes of them yesterday when I ran into some Girl Scouts with a table set up outside the grocery store, and he wolfed nearly two entire boxes down last night, then complained of a stomach ache.

I like to buy several boxes, we usually buy 10 boxes of samoas, 10 oxes od doe se does, 10 boxes of peanut butter and 10 boxes of the other assorted.
