Dealer unsure of strain

Normally when I pick up I get a brief explanation of the bud, look at it, know the strain, etc. Though, every now and again my dealer(s) don't know. I've been picking up from a good friend of my lately, and he's just getting into the 'business'. He's got some bud but has no idea what kind. I saw it, and I'm not really sure either. It's some real dank shit, bright orange hairs. Theirs also medium sized blotches of purple all throughout it. It's some mad purp, but no clue of the 'actual strain'.

I'll post some pics once I get it, but was wondering if anyone had any idea what this shit could be? Skunky as all hell. :jointsmile:

i can say without a doubt that no one on this website will ever be able to tell you the strain, even with pictures.

Does it really matter to you? If it's some dank bud and it gets you high as you'd like, and enjoy smoking it, why should technicalities matter. What makes you think your dealers even know what they're talking about in the first place when they tell you the apparent strain name. I highly doubt they know for a fact what it is unless they know the grower, or grew it themselves. People can say anything they want.

It seems people care more about bragging . "wow i got some heady crip chronic haze, or some strawberry bubblegum sour hybrid x3" Its more important than the bud itself.

Who gives a fuck what it's called. Just smoke it.

Never did I say I cared what kind it was, I'm more so curious if anyone has any ideas. I've never seen any bud like this where I'm from, so it's just something entirely new. It's not like I say shit like "hey man, what kind of bud is this??". If it's clearly not mid/shwag, and smells dank; rarely will I ever complain. I usually sample the weed before buying anyways, and I haven't been able to give this shit a go (yet).

Besides, half the time I don't even know what all these strains that are constantly mentioned even are.

This was nothing more than a quick question regarding purple coloring. Chill.

sometimes the purple coloring can come from the plant not being grown in the best conditions, such as it getting to cold and shit...

Next time you're being told what strain you are purchasing, remember this.

Excellent point. Even the "best" strains under sub-perfect conditions will be no better than anything else. If I used to be a dealer, then I don't make up some name to get people to buy my shit. If I had been a dealer, the people I sold to wanted to know how dank it was, not what I decided to call it. The color and smell of the bud doesn't even matter that much. What matters is how much THC it has and how high it will get you.
