Okay i am 17 and have been smoking about 2-5 times a week for about 8 months. About a month ago everytime i would smoke for a couple days in a row i would start seeing blood in my mucus, but then when i would stop smoking for a couple of days i wouldnt see blood in my snot anymore. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

No im not exhaling out of my nose.... but i do have a really crappy and harsh pipe and am planning on getting a bong soon. do u think that maybe that the harshness of the smoke might be causing it?

it might, or you might have really dry weed or just a weak respiratory system

is it a feeling where your nose burns and when you swallow, the back of your nose burns?

Tool, I'm guessing you're referring to your nasal mucus, not throat or chest, right?

If you're terribly worried about it, go to the doc. But most likely what's happening is that your nasal passages are simply a little dried out and irritated by the smoking and the irritants in the smoke, and that can make you more prone to little broken capillaries or small broken blood vessels. You could use one of those plain saline mist nasal sprays to add some extra moisture in there. Or just breathe some steam that's coming up from a pan or kettle of boiling water. Try not to worry too much about it, OK?

i'm sorry i should have mentioned this earlier but im also haucking(sp) up mucus that has blood in it as well. i am also wheezing and have some chest tightness too. Notice this only happens when i smoke for a couple days in a row. when i take a week break or something all of these things eventually go away.

so birdgirl, could your answer earlier also be the answer to why im wheezing at times too?

you may have bronchitus; do you smoke cigs? is emphysema a running factor in your family gene pool? are you taking any meds?

a "smoker's hack" is not uncommon in everyday (pot) smokers. not sure why, but it's a fact. the blood is probably coming from your nose; are you prone to nose bleed?

please answer these, i'll see if i can come up with an answer for you
