" out of body experience (OBE)"
when I was high?...yeah, just once in my life.
The second time I smoked weed I got so blitzed because I smoked the day before and didnt get high but all the thc was still latent in my body. So my friend and I go into this alley and he gave me greens on his huge bong and i ripped the shit out of it and i guess all the thc from the day before was activated.
I got so high i couldnt stand straight. I felt awkward as hell, cuz my body was trying to reject the thc and my lip turned purple and i became pale as hell. Gravity seemed to weakened, I felt like my head was floating. Then I started getting some sick ass spins and my vision turned completely white. At this point, I couldnt tell which way was left or right, I was just running around half blind. What I remember was that I had gotten warped into a different dimmension and it felt like I walking through open doorways, more like I was getting pulled into them. I thought i was either dying or getting pulled into some empty, pitch white dimension. When I finally started coming down it felt like i was being pulled back out of the doorways I had just went through until I was on level ground. All these strangers were all looking at me like "wtf is wrong with him?:wtf: " Shit was crazy...i was scared to smoke again for a while.

oh yeah...and every once in a while I get scissor-lock, or Sleep paralysis, or hypnagogic paralysis.
Its when my body goes to sleep before my brain does, so im laying in bed completely paralyzed from head to toes.
It's wierd cuz I also go blind and I can hear anything, i think. It takes me about a minute to snap out of it (maybe it just feels like a minute). What I have to do is slowly regain control of my fingers (its harder than it sounds) by wiggling them around and once i can move my whole hand, the rest of my body is set free.

The second time I smoked and the first time I got high I had an out of body experience. It was a summer day and we used a black and mild and the bud was so dry and the smoke was incredibly harsh. When we walked back onto a street and then I remember just completely tripping. People were talking, but I couldn't listen. I just was like I'm so high. A little longer on the walk I think i was talking to someone, but I lost my concentration and spaced out. Suddenly I saw me and my friends walking on the sidewalk from ten feet above myself. It was sooo weird. When we got to a Dunkin Donuts I just remember music echoing through me. I still haven't been that ripped again.

lucid dreams are so awesome!

I made myself jump off a cliff,

but sadly, I woke up before I got to figure out what happens,

Usually when I figure out im having a lucid dream, Im usually too awake to make them last for a long time

never had a OBE and every time i achive lucidity in a dream i wake in 3-5 seconds. I how, however, had sleep paralysis one time i most vividly remember was the right after the first time i meditated i went to lie down i slowly started to watch the patterns in the darkness (keep in mind i was buzzed/comming down the whole time) then out of nowhere a white shadow of a hand appeared on my wall, and started to crawl towards me. then all i could see was a blinding light. Then my body felt like it was falling and getting twisted to the left and right at the same time (like one of those indian burn things). eventually after i was trying to move for about 30-40 seconds i snapped out of it. The whole time i was hallucinating crazy patterns, it was great.

I think I've had OBE whilst in a lucid dream state. I love smoking pot and experimenting with this shit, unfortunately its only about once or twice a year I have a really lucid dream. I find not wanking too much, once a month helps, nearly three months was latest record.

I get lucid dreams all the time, 2 days ago I tried to control my dream but it didn't work lol. Anyways onetime I did like 600something mg of DXM and my body went numb, so I sat down. So I'm laying down and I started to realize I could barely move and the world was like tilting back and fourth. The world kinda stopped tilting, then I couldn't move like wahtsoever. I continued to try and move and my vision started moving but my body wasn't. And next thing I knew I saw my bodywhile I was up above it. It didn't last that long though. After that I don't even remember what happened.

for me, they usually happen when im about to wake up, so in the morning around 9ish,

I usually know I have one, when something crazy happens, like some cute guy is talking to me and we start making out or something because usually my dreams are about me killing someone, or being in a shoot out, terminator, scareface type dreams

i had one lucid dream. i was 11, juuuust before i fell and hit my head, and got a concussion. which led to my hearing loss, loss of sleep, and general disordered life :stoned:

i wish i could remember the dream...

Tip for having a lucid dream, would be not to smoke for a day or two and before you sleep just think about clues that could make you realize you are dreaming.

i dont generally even remember my dreams at all, let alone dream for that matter... it's maddening... i dont get much sleep, and what sleep i do get is not accompanied by dreams... :(

wow. ive been very interrested in OBE's but could never achieve having one. ive read online about them and have een tried techniques. i dont know if ive ever had a lucid dream either. this interrests me so much and i would love to train myself to have regular OBE's. some people say that dying is just like a permanent OBE. i guess thats why i would like to experience it. because im so terrified to die and so depressed to get older.

well... i used to have many lucid dreams, and i liked to jump off anywhere i were. and i felt the same thing all the times i reached the floor: somewhat like a "slap" on the entire body (somewhat like the sensation when you slap the palm of the hand against a table), but completly painless. it was rather very pleasant. then just after the "slap" i felt my body tingling, like if it was vibrating, or percurred by an electrical current, or somewhat like this. it was completly painless too, and very very very pleasant. this state is sometimes called "vibratinal state" for those who practice astral projection (techniques for having out-of-body-experiences).

when did you realize you could do this,
any special techniques?

in my case it started after i start practicising astral projection. i dont remember to have accomplished one conscient oobe until today, as im very lazy to carry on anything who demands much time, and think i only dreamed i was oobe-ing, but i started to have lots of lucid dreams. i started to be conscient i was dreaming, and im sure it was cause i learned how to keep my mind conscient even when the body is sleeping (one of the key techniques of astral projection).

another thing i like to do when lucid dreaming is to fly. its hard to accomplish (at least for me) cause i am conditioned to feel the weight of my body (even in dreams), but sometimes i can fly freely, and the feeling is wonderfull... indescritible... somewhat like a heavy body high from some killer indica... but different... anyway, its very very good.

unfortunately my lucid dreams become more rare when i started to smoke. i think it is because i sleep more deeply when stoned, and have less dreams... but taking a nap while blazed (specially if the weed were a good mix of indica and sativa) can make you have very weird dreams... and i think somewhat more than this... one time i did it and have like a dream that i was doing a thing i wished to do too much, and i "felt" it was much nearer than i could imagine. at the time i regarded it as a weird dream, but at the same time become somewhat awed by it. then, last week, against all my wildest expectations, completly unexpectedly, it happened... very much like i had "dreamed"... and my "dream" was like 3-4 months ago... and in that time i thought i only would do what i did much years later... never tought it would be only some months later...
In the same ocasion i "dreamed" another things too... only the time will say if they will become real or not.
Anyway, it was weird enough, at least for me :stoned:

wow thats crazy. how u do u train ur mind to stay awake when the body is sleeping? do u just constanly think of something?ive rad of astral projection online and tryed some techniques but i always seem to fall alseep.

well... its not easy... i fall asleep almost every time i try to do astral projection... when i dont fall asleep is because im too alert, but in this case my mind is too agitated to concentrate in anything, so i give up.
the technique i use is lay down in the most relaxed position i can, in a very quiet room, preferibly dark, close my eyes, put cotton into my ears to ensure complete silence, and concentrate all my attention in the act of breathing. i try dont think anything, just breathe. its hard cause soon the mind starts wandering again... then you have to start again... anyway, with the practice you can stay long periods of time just breathing, with the mind clear... then lots of strange things start to happen... my body feels like numbed, like it were just a warm mass, i cant differentiate my hands, legs, or whatever... like a very heavy body high... the silence into the mind is wonderful too... i feel a complete peace... when i used to did it every day, frequently i could feel what is called "vibrational state", which is said is the gateway for the astral projection... but i never remember have gone further than feeling it.
anyway, i assure you its worth the effort, just because this "vibrational state" is the more pleasant feeling i felt my entire life... somewhat like an orgasm in the entire body, during several seconds (much more than a "normal" orgasm which last just for instants)... yes... its fuckin good...
try hard and you will do it! good luck man!

in the case of sleep paralysis, u gotta deprive urself of sleep so that ur body is susceptible to entering a sleeping-phase before ur body does. thats the only way that its happened to me other than taking speed.

yes... it always happens to me... but dont give up! with the practice will eventually will succeed.
And there is indeed a lot of techniques to doing this... try several until you find the better for you!
As for the fear of the death... maybe it can be an obstacle... like... you can feel youre dying while trying to astral project, and maybe it would make you be afraid and break you concentration... but dont give attention to this... you will NOT die while trying astral project, so, if you become afraid, just ignore it. I know its not very easy, but the effort is worth the results.
And good luck!

yah. my fear of death is from my depression/anxiety and i cant go to the doctor because i donthave any health insurance so it'll have to wait. i havent been able to practice the last few days cuz ive been laying down a new floor in my room and i just fall right asleep when i get in the bed. but i do plan on trying tonight. im really gonna concentrate on this and not gonna give up till it happens. what is astral projection exactly? isit ur soul elaving ur body? i heard ur connected by a cord type thing. what if this 'cord' breaks. or what if u get lost in the astral world? any consequences to this?

Coelho
03-04-2007, 01:30 AM
well... its somewhat like your "soul" or consciousness leave temporarily your physical body. but it doesnt leave entirely. imagine holding a chewing gum with two hands. then you start to stretch it. one piece will be in one hand, another in the another hand and they will be connected by a thin cord of chewing gum. its what happens in the astral projection. one part of our "soul" leaves, and another part stays bound to the physical body (while its alive.) there is no possibility of this cord to break, as it is only a piece of "stretched soul".
the only possibility of this cord break is if someone kill you while youre trying to astral project. but as in this case your soul would leave your body regardless anything, you should not worry about this.
i suggest you do some detailed reading about this before you start trying it seriously. astral projecting is a very serious thing, which can change completly your notions about everything, so you must be completly aware of what are you doing.
my information in this subject comes mainly from the book "journeys out of the body" by Robert Monroe. its a classical book in this subject, i recommend you to read it.
i find an online book about this subject, and im reading right now. its seems good, so i will post the link:

Out of Body Experiences: Keywords: OOBE, Astral Projection (http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.html)

and, again, good luck and tell us if you succeed!

I've had lucid dreams quite often and a few episodes of sleep paralysis, neither had anything to do with smoking, they just happened. The sleep paralysis is scarey but the last time was many years ago. The lucid dreams can be pretty scarey too, the last one I had concerned an intruder coming into my bedroom and I could actually feel him sitting on my bed and leaning over me. I turned round to look at him and woke up thank Heavens. Dreams are OK if they are nice! I hadn't been smoking.

I actually just had a lucid dream about 30 minutes ago while i was taking a nap and it was really incredible...

The way it happened was....I was in a car on the way back to school and when I couldnt find my way back I told myself "Wait I dont recognize any of this....I must be dreaming" and then I concentrated on where I was and tried to keep myself in the world....I didnt get to stay very long though...prolly about 5 minutes

Also its not like once you realize your dreaming you can stay in that mindstate.....I remember seeing an RA from my dorm (after i realized i was dreaming) and he was like stalking me and shit and I was still talking to him about how he shouldnt....its really weird...yet cool!

I projected twice once i just went to sleep and it happend randomly it felt like i was falling of my bed and saw it going past me then i stood up and saw myself in the mirror. A second later i found myself laying back in bed and realized i didnt even move.

The second time I was acctually trying i remember i was visualizing walking around my house and outside as best i could and then felt the falling sensation again and found myself standing next to my bed, it was dark so i flew through the cieling and got stuck halfway through for a moment then pushed out. walked through the front door outside than started flying/skimming along the surface of the road. I thought of some house i saw a couple days before and was instantly teleported there and flew through it a bit, then thought of my body and snapped back into it. this was all in the time period of maybe 10 seconds.

I lucid dreamed once its just kind of like you think ur awake for a second but realize ur dreaming. One way to do it is look at the back of ur hand for at least 10 seconds every night for about a month. If u look at the back of ur hand in a dream you'll remember ur dreaming.

I was about 8 days sober and falling asleep when all of a sudden I blacked out but I was still thinking like awake but asleep and no matter what I couldn't open my eyes, and then I felt this very strange tingle go up and down my arms, then I thought I was dying or something, I then forced myself like never before to open my eyes, and I did and the experience was over. Strange Shit, never found out what it was

That is when you are on your way to lucid dreaming. When this happens to me sometimes i fel pain in the centre of my chest follow by what is called a torso rush, you feel a tremendous rush of energy through your body, and sometimes the palms of your hands glow. I think you aura can leave your body through the palms of your hands, anyway when this happens, which is rarely unfortunately, I have what i beleive could be out of body experiences.
