x-ray machines at airport

Has anyone come across these? I hear they are new but still at many airports.

are you talking about the ones where they pretty much see a naked picture of you? because if you are I saw them on tv and I dont think I would ever want to have to be screened by one

no they have a new thing now... they're starting to send people through them... looks kinda like a metal detector but it can see under your clothes...

and i doubt they give you radiation poisoning...

if that could give you radiation poisoning then so could going to the dentist, and every time you get a broken bone, and a number of things people run across daily...

they claim to have some little privacy screen thing that won't show your actual... 'parts' but i dunno if i'd trust it still lol...

i don't think it covers it, just kinda blurs it out... but i guess so? lol i dunno how they work exactly...

i also don't think they are the same thing the dentist uses... or there would be health concerns... i guess only time (and lawsuits) will really tell tho...

what they showed on tv just kind of made it so you couldnt see very much detail. it still didnt leave much to the imgaination though

I saw one of these and it could see quite clearly under your clothes. As the guy above said, it doesn't go into great detail (like texture) but it does show all of our sizes. ;)

ya the way ive always brought weed on vacation was stickin it in my underwear. and although weed isnt bad they might mistake it for something else. i dont really want to fuck up a great vacation. does anyone know if they are experimental or at airports nation wide?

As far as radidiation poisoning goes, X-Rays pass through the body and do not collect inside it. Hell, flourescent lights put off a small amount of x-rays constantly

They arent at all airports, but they might be some day. They only do it to you if the first thing you walk under beeps at you, and even then you can say you would rather have a pat down. At least thats what they were saying on tv

I haven't flown in a couple of years but last time I did, they had regular metal detectors in ATL and orlando international.
I got pulled aside and hit with the wand leaving orlando. No biggie.

Don't be too afraid of radiation. You're all getting it from your computers now, and also when you ride the plane you probably get more than when you go through security.

I could just imagine if I was a lady going through there and I looked at the operator to see some fat grubby guy with a mustache licking his lips and learing at the monitor.

If the machine could just be reduced to a size small enough to make a pair of goggles out of then you could have a market

These are only in the Sky Harbor airport right now. TSA has not purchased them anywhere else, in fact the one in Phoenix is on loan, Its 100,000.

And you dont have to go thru the backscatter Xray. If you fail the metal detector you have the option of xray or pat down.

So, just dont fail the metal pass and you're fine.

I've heard DC and NY will get them next, but nothing yet. The cost may be to prohibitive, along w/ public outcry. Its a strip search, no matter how you slice it.

I work w/ TSA daily, some are saying that they may not use them at all and instead go to more of a "where are your travel papers" routine.

Finally, they have to "blur" out sensitive areas, meaning if you crotch it good and tight, they aren't going to see it anyhow.
