150W HPS CAB GROW JOURNAL

High guys. some of u may have read my previous grow log, i was using cfls and my plants were looking really nice. but i was drunk one night and dropped my ballast on them cuz i was tryin to hook it up. long story. so anyways i got my 150w hps hooked up and got 2 little seedlings. cab is 2.5 feet tall, and 1 foot deep. im using miracle grow organic potting soil and the seeds are from a bag of schwag i had a while back. hope u all enjoy!

eh the temps are stayibn around 84-86. but tonight im gonna cut a holw in the left side and insert a 90 degree piece of pvc pipe so my intake fan can draw in fresh air which im pretty sure it will cool it down a few degrees. if u cant see theres an exhause fan right next to the light sucking the hot air out, it does a pretty good job too. i also put a 42W cfl in there.

well thats a little on the warm side, dont let it get any hotter then that. i used to have a 150 wat hps in a 3x3x3 cabnit and temps were like 85 and i just took 3 2liter bottles and froze them and just placed them in the cabnit with a fan blowing over them and it lowerd temps like 5 - 7 deg. just a idea.

dang that cab is almost like my 1st cab in my sig, what i did was drill a bunch about 12 holes in the floor( 1/2" holes) and the air came right up inside cooling it down, maybe this is possible for you if a little light leak is ok.

hey guys thanks alot i really appreciate ur advice. i drilled a hole in the side of the cab today and put a 90 degree piece of pvs pipe in the hole and caulked around it. i got a fan inside right in front of the hole so it draws fresh air in. later this week im gonna go to the compuer store and get another computer fan for the inside. so ill have the exhaust fan,the fan inside, and another fan inside so the temps should drop to the high 70's even though now they are at 84 and staying there. i ran outof mylar after i did the whole insideof the cab so i spray painted the inside of the door white. will that reflect light good? the plants are growin kinda fast under this hps. i will post pics tomorrow morning when the lights come on.

ya flate white is good. u may want to pick up a 6 pack of 25 watt cfls and turn off the hps tell it comes time to flower, cfls were well for vegging cause they can be placed almost ontop of the plant therefor keeping the plant small and tight nod spaces.

if it were me id pick up a 6 pack of 25 watts and 6 ceiling sockets from walmart and veg with that, then turn on hps +cfls for flower and give it that extra bost of light it needs for flowering.

well im only going to veg for bout 2 weeks then flower. i have two 42w cfls and four 23w daylight cfls. i have a few ceiling fixtures. i just might use the cfls for now and flower with the hps. but doesnt the hps make the plant grow faster?

hps works in veg but not very well its just like the difference between cfls u want a blue specturm for veg and yellow for flower. cfls work better for small plants and veging cause a hps is to powerfull of a light for a young seedling.

hey guys heres new pics enjoy! o and i recently fixed the light leeks. i got 2 plants but only took a pic of one cuz theyre still seedlings and both look the same cept i think one is indica dominant and one is sativa dominant. im only gonna veg for 2 weeks then flower. i havent had any bud since superbowl weekend and i wont have any till these plants flower.

dont sell yourself short man, look into LST and veg them about 20-25 days it will make a great difference in that short time.

with waiting that extra week or so you will gain quite a few grow shoots and a much better overall yield.

i got 23 grams with my cab and i know you could easily get 2oz with a 150watt with practice so veg her a little longer and learn to LST.

added a 120mm computer fan for an exhaust and changed my 80mm pc fan into an intake. working good keeping temps in the hgh 70's. not much has changed in growth. second set of leaves r comin in. ill post pics in the mornin.

ok the plants have been vegging for 4 days. at day 21 im going to switch to 12/12. this is just bagseed im growing and ill be getting some blueberry seeds in the mail within the week, i hope. cant wait to see how the blueberry turns out. yum. i'll post pics tomorrow or the day after. :) leave me some luv!

Its good to have a plan worked out. but don't sell that plant short. Wait untill it is ready to be flowered, 21 days will be close but if its not ready (Showing preflowers which shows that the plant is mature) You will not get as much. As well you might have a weak plant.

your on the right track tho keep reading when it comes time to flower you'll know cuz your plant will tell you.

umm i have added it up about 1000 times but i neveer remember

4x26w
3X2FT(32w) flouro side light
2x16w UVB cfls

im not sure what they all convert to (incandesent)
but we have 3 plants.
oh, we have a 75w HPS plug-n-play that gets set up sometimes..

hehehe my sis took her digi camera with her so i gotta wait till she gets home to take pics. yah the razr sucks for takin pics. but my girls are doin good. nice and green. im usin a 150w hps and two 26w daylight cfls. so a total of 202 watts. temps are 81-84 still even after i added a 120mm pc fan for eaxhaust, and i got 2 fans for intake. so idk. im just not gonna try n fuck with the temps anymore.

temps stay between 80-82. i just transplantd cuz the other mg organic soil is what fucked em up in the first place. id ont know. its pissin me off. they perked up just a lil and new growth still comin out the tops. ill take a few more pics while i have the difital camera at my disposal.

things r kinda starting to look a little better. hopefully by tomorow they will be over the hsock of being transplanted and they will be perke dup. i think it was the organic mg sil that fucked them up cuz it has nutes already in it.i transplanted em into some mg soil with moisture control, which worked wonders for me on my last grow. so hopefuly things shape up and i will post pics tomorrow.

how is your ph? It looks as if you have a peat mix (in the soil, which is bad because it will give you ph probs) or that your water could be off (again ph or that you overwater, probably not by looks of soil)...I wouldn't throw them out just yet, fix the problem before you pop good seeds, that way you know that you have all your ducks in a row.

yo havent been around in a while. was banned and was gona for the weekend. but im back now and i got a fat sack of some nice buds. first time smokin in a month :) those plants died. got my 5 blueberry and 5 cottoncandy/nycd seeds. the blueberry sprouts are doing fine and i will pos pics in a new thread by the end of the week.
