Random question, I just saw my cat sleeping next to me and then she started twiching and meowing a bit, then she woke up suddenly.

Ive seen her do this enough to notice it, but not enough times to consider it normal, I think it'd be pretty cool to know if they did, ive always wanted my cat to talk and see what she would say about me, also, we'd have some bomb ass conversations

well, if dogs see only in black and white, do they only dream in black and white?

probably, but i know that they for sure dream cuz i see my dog moving her legs like shes running a lot... and sometimes when there are puppies around they will sleep and make that suckling noise dreaming and shit... at least i think they do...

I am sure they dream- my sweet dog Emerson used to dream a lot, his little feet would be twitching and he'd make the cutest little baby woof sounds.
God I miss him:(

My cat does the same thing when hes sleeping all the time too. He always seems like hes dreaming about chasing something down and killing it

There's a differance between Color Blind and Black and White. . . My cat talks in it's sleep, it's kinda strange in the middle of the night. They get this crackle sound to them, it's like nails on a chalk board. . .

Lol. My iggie (italian greyhound) cuddles real close to me under the covers. I'll hear him growling as he twitches sometimes in his sleep, then I just pet him and he knows he's safe.:rasta:

yeah I can tell when sammy is having a bad dream because he starts to cry and then it sounds like hes fighting something. Sometimes I worry that hes going to attack my legs under the covers when hes sleeping.

no, cats know they're better than you. they sit around all day, eat when they want, don't go chasing balls and stuff whenever some human needs to be amused, lie in the sun and sleep, prowl the house when you are safely out of the way in your bed.

sounds like they've pretty much got it all figured out.

I have had animals that were abused and animals from birth who are treated right... I noticed the the abused ones had more tremors,,,shakes and whimpers while they are sleeping... Could be a coincidence but I don't think so... My cat Geep I basically stole because the peeps that had him would hit him with a broom and shit... he always shaked and shit when he slept even after five years here...

thats an interesting theory. I cant say for sure that my dog was abused before we got him, put the people at the pound gave us the impression that he wasnt treated right.

We have never had a dog because when my dad was 5 he
got attacked by a dog probably much like you did. I can
see how it has put you off cats ever since, it must have
been quite traumatic for you? my Dad had to have reconstrucive
facial surgery after it. And it was not one of those attacks
where the child obviously provoked the animal he was just wallking
along a road and the dog ran thorugh a hedge and just mauled him!

I say yes, because my cat often kicks and makes noises when he's sleeping, so why else would he be doing that?

kinda similar but it was our pet... and i was 5 as well...

it just snapped on me, i hadn't done anything to antagonize it... and at that point i had never been mean to any cat... it jus tsnapped and jumped on the back of my head and neck and started clawing me relentlessy... lots and lots of stitches... and i didn't even get any anesthesia type shit because i was on the verge of bleeding ot death, not to mention i'd just bleed out the shit...

so at 5 i was sewed up like some rag doll with no pain medicine what so ever..

Ha, my uncles Rottweiler/pit mix bit me from my eye brow to the oposite corner of my mouth. . . My dad said it was like 40 stitches. Me and that dog were still best friends till he past though. I had no hard feelings, I kinda asked for it. I was playing with his sqeaky toy and I think he had a iner-ear problem. I If my cat tried to pull that shit it would kick them down the street. . . laces out, lol

Sammy, your kitty is definitely a heart-melter. I just want to hold her whenever I see those pictures.

My animals definitely dream. I'd give anything to know what they dream about. Is it dog fights? Cat fights? Sex? Running? I feel relatively certain that Daisy, my pudgy dog, dreams about food, but that's just because it's a passion of hers during her waking hours and she seems to be obsessed with it. I can always tell when they're dreaming because they'll make noises and twitch. One of my dogs growls slightly when she goes through those dream phases. I know in sleep studies of animal brain waves, they can see electrical patterns that would indicate they're dreaming. I guess we'll never know for sure until some darling animal somewhere can talk about it. Maybe when that happens, the animal will also write a book!

I used to have a big ass golden retriever (R.I.P. :sadcrying) and when he was sleeping, sometimes it was kinda barking...and his body would like jump a bit lol...and we always assumed he was dreaming..
