i just got my permit to hike 221 miles from yosemite valley
to mt.whitney.[highest point in the lower 48 states]

10-15 miles a day thru some of the most beautiful land in america
waterfalls,hidden lakes,mountain tops,bears,lots of bud,
its going to be a trip of a lifetime

no kids,no work,no school,no noise ,no bills,no grouchy city people,
no dogs barking,no helicopters, no sirens, no phones ringing

i signed up for thsi trip alone. im going to spend 3 weeks by myself
i need to get in touch with my friend owl .its been awhile

Phat Trip!! what you gonna bring for gear?
I'm lookin to buy a new backpack, but all the current internal franes dissapoint me,they are great for mountineering but suck on long hikes. All the ones I've tryed sagged and pulled on my sholders after a few miles. I'm thinkin fo going old school and lookin at external frames.
What I carry...
MSR Dragonfly Stove
Kelty Lightyear Sleepin Bag,+20 Deg
Mountain Hardwear 3-man 3 season tent
MSR water Filter

Are you gonna go with freeze dried food? if so what?
Yer Makin me Jones Hard!! Kansas bearly has hills much less places like The John Muir, say High to to Yosemite Valley for me!!
