i don't have any actual programs for you.. but i can tell you this (with almost absolute certainty) any program you find to do it, is only going to be a trial (nearly all trials have some limitation... since it's not for video you're probably only goign to be able to convert a set ammount of time (it'll probably also be less than a minute) or you can only convert so many files before the trial is over..

you're gonna have to look on p2p or torrent sites mor ehtan likely, and find one with a crack... (search: mp3 conversion crack) and find files that say they have the program + crack (free serial number generator thing)

or if you have the money to spend... just go to downloads.com, search mp3 conversion, find one that suits your needs, and go from there... nearly every program (i only say nearly cuz i can't say if there is some bs file on there, but i have never ran across anything but what it exactly says it is, and reliable at that) are real, and isn't just a scam, or some crap like that...

Skink, ima aware of what the bitrate does, but my roomie has that ROKR phone by mopto, and all my music is FLAC (hugh files) or like 192. There is no way he needs that bitrate on his cell phone. Plus he only has like 5mb of space. I have a FLAC-mp3, but no mp3-mp3...any suggestions.

no worries bro. I just thought you might be well versed in the sound catagory. I just wanna reduce bitrate from 192 to 64 i think, this will drastically reduce file size. Only so he can get more mp3s on his phone.

just search around for a converter, you can find free ones. No one charges you anymore for something so simple like that, unless its for a specific device, my ipod movie converter is free xilisoft, im not sure if it works with music files too but look it up, go on download.com and search there database.

OK I found a nice easy Prog to do what you want... I converted an mp3 to 64kbs and 32kbs and there is options to go lower...

The proggie is Lame go here---vvvv

Download Lame.exe and Razorlame.exe at www.trudyholler.com (http://www.trudyholler.com/pages/download_razorlame.html)

D/L Lame and razorlame"the GUI" for lame... extract them to 1 folder and use razorlame.exe

Edit>Lame Options and set the output bitrate>then add you mp3 and hit encode...

here is what I got... the first was the original 3.64mb

64kbs 1.64mb

http://cannabis-zone.com/stuff/Rolling Stones - Start Me Up-64kbs.mp3

32kbs 840kbs

http://cannabis-zone.com/stuff/Rolling Stones - Start Me Up-32kbs.mp3

I'm still looking into the Flac,,,LOLz,,, I converterd the mp3 to Flac which is suppose to be a compression without loss of quality and it went from 3.64mb to 20.1mb...
